Victory Motorcycles officially enters TT Zero with an electric prototype – video

Victory Motorcycles has announced that they will enter a two-man team into this year’s Isle of Man TT Zero. The prototype electric race bikes will be piloted by William Dunlop of the legendary Dunlop dynasty and by Lee Johnston known in the racing world as “General Lee”. This is the first time that Victory Motorcycles enters an European motorcycle racing event. Read the full article »

Video: Erik Buell documentary to air tonight

„The Ragged Edge”, a documentary about Erik Buell Racing, will air tonight on PBS, but only if you live in Wisconsin. Erik Buell Racing (EBR) is (was) the only American sport bike company that is now racing for its survival. Saroléa SP7 all-carbon electric superbike debuts – Video

Belgian bike manufacturer, Sarolea has pulled the covers off of the SP7 at the Autoworld show in Brussels. The new machine will try and make it it onto the podium in the SES TT Zero Challenge Race at the Isle of Man TT. The bike features lots and lots of carbon and titanium parts, a large electric motor and is capable of doing 168 mph. Honda CRF 250 Rally revealed

Honda has just announced that the CRF 250 Rally Concept will be revealed at the 31st Osaka Motorcycle Show 2015 this weekend. The concept bike is largely based on the CRF 250 L, and is powered by the same 249cc single-cylinder engine but the styling is a copy of the CRF 450 Rally. We can only hope that Honda will eventually build a production version of the model. Read the full article »

MV Agusta WSBK team’s F4 RC presented

The 2015 World Superbike Championship is just around the corner and MV AGUSTA, the Italian manufacturer with 75 world championship titles, presented at Phillip Island their “Reparto Corse” team, the name of the official factory team taking part in the dual challenge of WSBK and WSS. Ducati Desmosedici GP15 unveiled

Ahead of the forthcoming 2015 MotoGP World Championship season, Ducati have presented the new Desmosedici GP15 prototype at a special event in Bologna, Italy. The riders of the team, Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone, helped unveil the new GP15 that will make its on-track debut at the Sepang 2 test before the end of the month. Read the full article »

Marc Coma wins his fifth Dakar Rally

Catalonian rider Marc Coma cruised in to Buenos Aires a hero after he won his fifth Dakar. The 38-year-old equalled the number of titles held by Cyril Despres and one behind another Frenchman, Stephane Peterhansel. He was followed across the line by Paulo Goncalves on his Honda and Australian Toby Price on another KTM. For KTM, it was their 14th Dakar success but with the re-entrance of Honda and Yamaha, each year is getting more and more difficult for the Austrian manufacturer. Read the full article »

The rebirth of American board-track racing – in Europe

Vintage gear, rare antique Harleys and Indians with no brakes, invitation-only races, leather helmet for protection - this is board-track racing. This type of motorcycle racing had its golden age in the 1910s and 1920s in the U.S. but board tracks proliferated in part because they were inexpensive to construct. 70 years later, the sport experiences a revival in Europe - where this type of racing actually was born. Read the full article »
