2012 BMW C600 Sport, BMW C650GT: official pics, specs released

BMW Motorrad is expanding its business activities to include urban mobility. As its first offers on this sector, BMW Motorrad will be presenting two premium vehicles on the maxi scooter segment. The BMW C 600 Sport and the BMW C 650 GT combine the outstanding riding properties of a motorcycle with the specific agility and conceptual comfort of a scooter for a new kind of dynamic riding experience. 2012 BMW GS650 Sertao revealed

2012 BMW Concept E scooter revealed

Before the end of this year, BMW Motorrad will establish its new "Urban Mobility" area with two premium vehicles in the maxi scooter segment. The BMW maxi scooters combine the functionality of a scooter with the riding pleasure of a motorcycle. Both vehicles are powered by high-performance and efficient 2-cylinder combustion engines. Based on the BMW Group's sustainability strategy, BMW Motorrad aims to put a premium offer on the market in the area of electromobility in the foreseeable future. more »

2012 BMW E-Scooter Concept revealed

BMW took the wraps off a new electric scooter on the 2011 BMW Motorrad Innovation Day. The E-Scooter provides the necessary sustained output and maximum speed for safe and reliable overtaking on urban motorways and also when carrying two people. BMW introduces Dynamic Damping Control for future motorcycles

As part of its BMW Motorrad Innovation Day 2011, the Bavarian manufacturer introduced a new semiactive suspension control system called Dynamic Damping Control (DDC). As early as 1986, BMW Motorrad achieved a milestone in suspension technology by launching the Paralever swingarm, an innovation that considerably improved rear suspension and the transfer of forces. In 1993, the freshly launched opposed twin “boxer” engine series was the first to be fitted as standard with a front suspension system that operated independently of the rear known as Telelever. more »

Video: Kazakhstan meets Chris Pfeiffer

Considering the sheer size of the Republic of Kazakhstan, it's surprising how little many of us know about it. For many Kazakhstan is the birthplace of the hero in the movie "Borat," however this amazing country is bigger than the whole of Western Europe, but is not an obvious destination for tourists, apart from GS-riding adventurers, many of whom have fallen in love with its deserts, flatlands, steppes and snow-capped mountains. more »

Video: ¼ mile race BMW S1000RR, F800R, R1200GS, M3 and M5

German motorcycle accessoriy specialist Hornig organized a quarter mile race with the finest BMW machines with two and four wheels. It’s no surprise that the S1000 RR won the race with 9,72 sec. The F800R - which has only 87hp - rocketed to second place with 11,54 sec. The R1200GS Adventure finished third with 11,86 sec, while the M5 beat the M3 by just 0,06 second. It’s amazing to see that these „slow” bikes with under 100hp beat these fine sports cars. more »

Video: Husqvarna’s 900cc parallel twin engine

Husqvarna released a new teaser video for its 900cc parallel twin engine that will power the first of a series of new road bikes. According to the video, this will be the most powerful engine in Husqvarna’s history. The development of the new engine is well underway thanks to the finance of parent firm BMW. This is one of the first steps that demonstrates the synergy between BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna for the development of street bikes. The first bike powered by this engine will be launched later this year. more »
