Second MotoGP test in Sepang finishes with Stoner on top

The third and final day of the second pre-season MotoGP Test at Sepang concluded on Thursday, and rounding off the three days as the fastest rider on each was Casey Stoner. Getting well under the 2’00” mark with a best effort of 1’59.665 – Valentino Rossi’s 2009 circuit best lap had already been surpassed by both Stoner and Dani Pedrosa the previous day – the Australian continued what has been an impressive switch to the RC212V in the lead-up to the 2011 campaign. Read the full article »

BMW S1000RR Superstock Limited Edition

BMW celebrates winning the 2010 FIM Cup with victories of Ayrton Baldovini with a special edition of the S 1000 RR. The S 1000 RR Superstock Limited Edition was created by BMW Motorrad Italy exclusively for the Italian market. The special edition S 1000 RR features identifications badges on the tank with the serial number, full carbon kit by HP, carbon swingarm cover, street legal Akrapovic racing exhaust, LED turn indicators and HP adjustable footrests. Read the full article »

Honda NSF250R Moto3 race bike breaks cover

Replacing the current 2-stroke, 125 cc used in the GP125 class, Honda developed the new NSF250R as a machine for entry riders to participate in the battle, seizing the opportunity provided by the opening of the 4-stroke, 250cc Moto3 category, which begins in 2012. The Japanese brand didn’t release official specifications but under Moto3 regulations, the NSF250R is limited to a 250cc single-cylinder engine with a bore of up to 81mm and a maximum rev limit of 14000rpm. Read the full article »

Yamaha Factory Racing unveils 2011 team livery

Yamaha Factory Racing unveiled its new livery today, a day in advance of testing tomorrow at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia. The team, which starts the season defending its third consecutive triple crown victory, fields a new rider in 2010 Rookie of the Year Ben Spies alongside the defending World Champion Jorge Lorenzo. The 2011 YZR-M1 features a Yamaha corporate blue colour scheme incorporating the iconic Yamaha speed block design. Read the full article »

Yamaha Racing unveals 2011 YZF-R1 livery

The 2011 Yamaha World Superbike Team has unveiled the livery they will run for the upcoming World Superbike season. The new design features a Yamaha blue corporate racing colour scheme. The livery takes its inspiration from both the famous Yamaha speed block design and also one of the colours of the current production model YZF-R1, giving the bike a modern sleek appearance whilst emphasizing Yamaha’s racing image. Read the full article »

Kimi Räikkönen teams up with Kawasaki

Ex-Formula 1 driver Kimi Räikkönen has founded a Motocross team to challenge in both the MX1 and MX2 classes of the FIM MX World Championship. Next season the new ICE1RACING motocross team of Kimi Räikkönen will go after World Championship points. Rossi tests with Ducati 1198 Superbike

Misano Circuit: Seventy-three days after an operation to his right shoulder, Valentino Rossi returned to the track at Misano Adriatico aboard a Ducati 1198 Superbike. On November 14 at Cattolica’s Cervesi hospital, the Italian had undergone surgery on the supraspinatus tendon and the long head of biceps tendon, as well as cartilage in the Glenoid Labrum.
