Moto Guzzi announces a Special Edition that was exclusively developed in Mandello del Lario for the American fans of the brand. The bike pays tribute to the rare 1971 Telaio Rosso Moto Guzzi V7 Sport. It was given the fancy name,“Verde Legnano,” due to its lime green paint scheme. The Special Edition will be produced in a limited run of just 50 motorcycles and will be available only in North America, carrying a $10,999 price tag.

The original V7 Sport was an iconic bike, designed by Lino Tonti in 1971. It was one of the first motorcycles with a five-speed gearbox capable of clocking 192 km/h (120 mph). Powered by a 748cc V-twin engine, the initial version of the V7 Sport sported a red frame and was limited to just 150 units. The bike wasn’t just fast: many consider it to be the most beautiful Moto Guzzi ever built.

The new Special Edition gets the same colorful treatment: the SE features “Verde Legnano” lime green paint scheme and painted red frame. Unlike European buyers, the North American market still retains a five-speed transmission but it does now have a new wet flywheel which has replaced the previous dry alternator. The 744cc V-twin puts out 50 hp and 58 Nm of torque.

Another features include Marzocchi forks, remote reservoir Bitubo rear shocks, Brembo brakes and anodized aluminum wheels, plus a special leather seat. Unfortunately, the Special Edition V7 will be available only in the United States. The bike will arrive in the dealerships in March, carrying a $10,999 price tag. If you want to have one, you have to be fast since the Italians decided to keep the Special Edition bike unique and only 50 units will be produced.
