McGuinness secures 17th TT win and 2011 championship in thrilling finale

John McGuinness won a thrilling PokerStars Senior race on Friday evening when he came from behind to take his 17th TT victory in the final race of the 2011 Isle of Man TT Races fuelled by Monster Energy in a new Race Record time of 1:45.45.80, beating Steve Plater’s 2009 time. The race was delayed by 5 hours due to inclement weather in the North of the Island, and the Honda TT Legends rider found himself seven seconds in arrears at the end of the first lap but he gradually reeled in early race leader Guy Martin and he was 13 seconds clear by the end of lap 5. Read the full article »

Video: World’s first synchronized double backflip performed by Travis Pastrana and Cam Sinclair

7-time X Games medalist Travis Pastrana and dozens of the world’s greatest action sports stars performed in the North American debut of Nitro Circus Live at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. The show of world-firsts kicked off when Pastrana asked his long-term girlfriend, Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins to marry him. “I wasn’t supposed to do this until the end of the show, but I was so nervous I couldn’t wait. Special Edition of EV-neo for Repsol Honda Team

Honda has designed a commercial electric scooter to assist businesses dealing with the transport of heavy goods or delivery services. The special edition Repsol branded EV-neo will be used by the riders and team at Honda Racing Corporation to move parts and personnel around at the MotoGP races worldwide. Casey Stoner claims third win in Catalunya

Repsol Honda rider Casey Stoner pulled away from championship leader Jorge Lorenzo to win the Catalunya Grand Prix on Sunday. The Australian rider rocketed to his third win to the season. Stoner took the lead from Jorge Lorenzo on lap two and and pulled away. Lorenzo got a good start and was first into turn one, but he could not hold off Stoner. KTM re-enters MotoGP competition in Moto3 class

KTM will return to the MotoGP competition in 2012 to compete in the new Moto3 category. Extensive and intensive preparations are underway at KTM, where a 100% pure in-house Moto3 racing machine is being developed by KTM engineer Wolfgang Felber and his team. KTM has also secured an exclusive partnership with Kalex Engineering and together the two companies will combine both skills and passion to develop two different, but parallel concepts, both focusing on a successful entry into the new race category. Read the full article »

2012 Honda NSF250R Moto3 race bike revealed

Honda has finally took the wraps off the 2012 NFS250R Moto3 race bike. The NFS250R is powered by a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, single cylinder, DOHC, 249 cc engine which was specifically designed for Moto3 to be lightweight and compact while delivering high output. To achieve this high output together with excellent responsiveness, the machine incorporates a front-intake/rear-exhaust configuration with high charging efficiency, while adopting a layout with the cylinder tilted back 15° to concentrate mass. Read the full article »

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, also known as „The race to the clouds” is always an exciting bike event of the summer, where cars and bikes face 156 turns on an average grade of 7%. In 2010, a stock Ducati Multistrada 1200 S won in the hands of Pikes Peak’s veteran, Greg Tracy. To celebrate the great victory, Ducati created a special Multistrada. Winner of 10 out of 10 races in the 1966 World Championship series, the RC166 captured the Manufacturers' and Riders' Championships in the 250cc class for two consecutive years. In short, this is the 1966 RC166. This bike is the most glamorous racing bike ever built. 250 cc isn't the type of engine capacity that gets many riders excited but when you start listing some of the RC166's specs such as its six cylinder engine, 6 independent carbs, 62-64hp and 7 speed gearbox that is capable of 18,000 RPM, things get a little more interesting. Video: Toni Bou rides trials in the FC Barcelona Stadium

FC Barcelona is one of the most well-known soccer teams worldwide. Nine times world Trials champion Toni Bou released a stunt video set in FC Barcelona’s stadium, the Camp Nou. The reason: Bou’s favourite team and Manchester United face each other in Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final. The Catalan told Motoblog.it: “For fans of Barcelona like me, to come to the Camp Nou with the bike trial is something really special. Yamaha celebrates milestone at Bikers’ Classics

The 2011 edition of the Bikers’ Classics event will take place from 1st-3rd July at the famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium and Yamaha will be there to take and enjoy another proud step in celebration of their 50th year of Grand Prix racing.
