2011 KTM 350 EXC-F Factory: the power of a 450, the agility of a 250

KTM introduced its new 350 EXC-F Factory, a newly developed factory bike claims no less than to be the most sophisticated and best four stroke racing Enduro ever. By limiting itself to a 350 cc capacity, KTM intends to transfer the sensational success of the 350 SX-F in the Motocross World Championship to the Enduro segment. The basic tenet of combining the low weight of a 250 with the power of a 450 will give the 350 EXC-F the edge. Combining massive performance with awesome agility makes for efficient, energy-saving rideability, which is at least as important in Enduro competitions as it is in Motocross races. Read the full article »

KTM 990 Adventure Special Edition celebrates Dakar domination

Austrian off-road motorcycle specialist will present a 990 Adventure special edition next week at EICMA show in Milan. Mike Werner of Motorbiker.org got his hands on this photo of the motorcycle which seems to be a tweaked version of the 990 Adventure. The special edition version features new blue and orange livery, classic Dakar logo and the 30th edition wording to remind everyone of it’s rally origins. The motorcycle got anti-lock brakes and KTM aftermarket kit. The company didn’t release the technical data yet. Read the full article »

Video: 2011 KTM 990 Supermoto T gets ABS

The Austrian company introduced the new 990 SM T with the addition of dual-channel ABS system engineered by Bosch at the Intermot show this week. Just how good are the new brakes? KTM calls its new 990 SM T the “Queen of negative acceleration.” The bike features dual 305mm discs front and 240mm rotor back. With a six-speed transmission, upright seating position and host of bolt-on goodies from the PowerParts catalog, the SM T could very well prove to be the ultimate street bike. Read the full article »

KTM RC8 R Track: race-ready, for real

The Austrian firm is bringing a new track-oriented version of its RC8 R sportsbike to market in 2011. The Track has been developed and produced by the RC8 Motorsport Department for trackday nuts or like those competing in various championships. The motorcycle is compatible with the FIM Superstock homologation and can therefore be used in official championships. KTM equipped the track bike with an Akrapovic EVO exhaust system, WP racing suspension, racing wiring harness, racing air filter, a thinner head gasket and several items from KTM’s Powerparts accessories line. Read the full article »

KTM launched the 125 Duke

The Austrian company introduced its newest model, the 125 Duke at Intermot show in Cologne. The new Duke looks more upmarket than most of its rivals available in Europe. Since the 2004 launch of the KTM Super Duke, the company has consistently developed its on-road expertise. The newest result of this is the 125 Duke, which features a completely new engine with high fuel mileage. The 4-stroke single-cylinder machine has four valves, two overhead camshafts, liquid cooling, a balancer shaft and electronic fuel injection. Read the full article »

Video: Cyril Despres and the new KTM 450 Rally

Dakar organizers decided in June that professional riders will be limited to 450cc motorcycles from 2011. The organizers hope this move will make Aprilia, BMW and the Japanese manufacturers more competitive, but KTM might have a thing to say about that. The Austrian company gives us a sneak preview about their new 450cc machine, which is being tested in the company’s private test track in the Pyrenees mountains. The DDB&Co Istanbul agency came up with this ad, not requiring any words. The ad suggests you’ll be spending so much time in the air on a KTM that, in order to remain effective, your license plate should be mounted on the sump. They even made it an Austrian plate. Young company develops fuel injectors for two-stroke engines

A former Ford Motor Co. Engineer has developed a fuel injection system for small engines that can reduce emissions from motorcycles and ATVs. "It's something that people don't realize, but the traditional automobile has come a long way in becoming much cleaner than smaller engines," Kyle Schwulst told CNN. "So much attention has been paid to automotive engines, but the smaller ones are much more harmful to the environment." Read the full article »

Video: 2011 KTM 125 Duke officially named

After holding an online contest to name its 125cc learner street bike, KTM has decided what to name the bike: the KTM 125 Duke. This name was selected after month of speculation. The Austrian company tries to engage young riders with the „Ready to Race” mantra, making them lifetime Team Orange riders with this stepping-stone model. KTM 125 streetbike teaser video

Tha Austrian company is hard work on its new 125cc streetbike, which still needs a name. This model will be the first of the manufacturer’s new range of 125 to 300cc entry level street bikes.
