Video: Xerox with Ducati motorcycle TV ad

Although Ducati quits SBK at the end of the season, and this will presumably be the end of Xerox title sponsorship of a factory race team, the american company, whose name is synonymous with photocopying, would like to capitalize on this relationship while it can. The result is a semi-engaging ad, in which Xerox shows that Ducati have chosen Xerox for their business needs. Pope Benedict XVI. gets two Ducatis

During a ceremony at Castel Gandolfo, Ducati Motor Holding made the gift of two Multistradas to the Pope, the motorcycles specially prepared as special escort vehicles for the Corps of Gendarmerie of Vatican City during official security duties for the Pontiff. The two 1200cc Ducati Multistrada motorcycles, finished in the special livery of the Pontifical State, were delivered directly to the Pope’s summer residence in Castel Gandolfo, Rome on 15 September. In the beautiful gardens adjoining the villa, a delegation of top management from the world-famous Italian motorcycle manufacturer officially presented the gift to His Holiness, Pope Bendictus XVI. Read the full article »

Ducati North America: 24% sales increase

The North American arm of Ducati reported an impressive 24-percent increase of sales last month. The Italian marque says these numbers display „a significant growth in a declining market for the second month in a row. The manufacturer credits their sales increase due to the new Monster 797 and the Multistrada 1200S, which continues to be one of the industry’s best sellers, and the arrival of the 848 EVO. Ducati says this lineup confirms that the motorcycling market wants „innovative, quality performance models.” Read the full article »

NCR Leggera: the lightest Hypermotard ever made

The NCR Leggera 1200 Special is reportedly the lightest Hypermotard ever made – shedding an unbeliveable 57kg from the already minimal Ducati. The Italian streetfighter got a handful of modifications, including full titanium frame, ceramic-carbon brakes and carbon-fibre bodywork. The engine delivers 110 horses but you can choose between two optional transformation kits which gives you extra 15 or 22hp. Read the full article »

Casey Stoner Ducati 1198S Philipp Island Replica

The MotoGP race at Philipp Island in 2009 was one of Casey Stoner’s best we’d seen, the Australian won in front of his home crowd. Making the moment even more special for the fans, Stoner had a special race livery. French Ducati dealership hopes to commemorate that race with a limited number of Casey Stoner’s Ducati 1198S Philippp Island Replicas. The French Ducati dealer added some top Ducati Performance parts and a full Titanium Ducati Corse 70mm Termignoni exhaust system to the bike, while the special race livery costs €1900. Read the full article »

Official: Rossi to ride for Ducati in 2011

Rossi likened his departure from Fiat Yamaha as the end of a marriage: "even the most beautiful love stories finish, but they leave a lot of wonderful memories," said Rossi after Sunday's Czech GP. The signing will see two of Italy’s great racing legends compete together from next year. The Italian fans’ dream come true, it’s hard to imagine how the fans will welcome Rossi on the red machine in next year’s Italian Grand Prix in Mugello. Read the full article »

More and more companys plan to manufacture electric cars and motorcycles, although most of them are only concept. The newest one comes from italian design firm Sak Art, which has close connection with Ducati. They have come up with an electric Superbike concept, called SBIK_E. Moto Guzzi Griso and Ducati Hypermotard concepts

Although Italian design found its peak in the 1960's, they can create fantastic cars and motorcycles nowadays, too. Ducati 999 Beach Racer hits 134mph on the beach

This custom Ducati was built by a motorcycle dealer in New Zealand. The second-hand 2003 Ducati 999 is equipped with fully adjustable Nemesis race ECU, which is front-mounted with the battery case and waterproofed wiring loom, a custom exhaust system, and modified rear 17-inch rear wheel with knobby tyre. Read the full article »
