Honda returns to Europe in the field of GT scooters with Faze

Honda will introduce a host of new colours for its current machines at the Cologne-based Intermot Show on 5 October. A number of all-new Honda models will then make their world debuts at the EICMA show in Milan from 2-7 November. The 1500sq meter Honda stand will be one of the main attractions of EICMA, where the Japanese will introduce the new Faze maxi scooter. This model is already on sale in Japan in the 250cc version, but possibly there will be a 125cc and a 300cc version. The Honda Faze will be amended to conform to European standards and goes on sale in 2011. The Faze is a step below the SW-T400. Read the full article »

Suzuki develops e-Let’s electric scooter

The Japanese manufacturer has completed a prototype of an electric scooter named the e-Let’s and has begun studying its operation on public roads in Japan. Suzuki was able to begin the on-road trials after registering the e-Let’s as a moped with the local authorities on 21st September and obtaining a number plate for it. Suzuki plans to use the resulting data in development efforts aimed at creating a production model. The e-Let’s is based on a petrol-engine scooter called the Let’s4 basket. Read the full article »

BMW K1600GTL leaked photo

Here’s the first official photo of BMW’s new big touring machine, the K1600GTL, which features a straight-six engine, iDrive, adaptive headlights, full-color TFT display, traction control, ABS, LED taillights, angel eyes, an iPod-compatible stereo and huge standard panniers. At the heart of the bike will be a 1649cc engine which produces 160hp at 7,000 rpm and 129lb/ft at 5,000rpm. Triumph updates the Speed Triple’s chassis and engine for 2011

Triumph will reveal shortly an updated version of its long running Speed Triple model. The manufacturer filed new documents with the California Air Resource’s Board (CARB) to certify the new bike emissions and weights. This document reveals a significant change to the models emissions. The 2011 Speed Triple will feature a 1050cc engine – the same as its predecessor, however the new model has more fuel going into the engine, meaning it has been fine tuned for more performance. Read the full article »

Suzuki teases 2011 gixxer motorcycles

Reliable source close to Suzuki have leaked an artist rendering of what the rumoured all-new 2011 GSX-R 600 and possibly the GSX-R 750 might look like. The Japanese company didn’t confirm when the new GSX-R will be available. The current GSX-R 600/750 was last updated in 2008 so it’s no surprise that the two models will get only minor updates. The biggest changes are the four new air intakes stacked to the sides of the slimmer headlamp. Mechanically, we expect a small weight reduction and an equally small increase of power. MINI unveils electric scooter in London

Iconic British brand MINI unveils its exciting MINI Scooter E Concept today in London. The MINI Scooter E Concept comes almost ten years to the day since the new MINI was first shown at the Paris Motor Show. There are a total of three interpretations of the MINI Scooter E Concept conceived by Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design: two of which will be shown at the Paris Motor Show next week, while the third concept, inspired by the swinging sixties, the hey day of classic Mini is being shown exclusively in London. Read the full article »

2011 Suzuki GSR 750 official teaser photo released

The Japanese manufacturer has released a single official illustration of the new GSR 750, a stylish naked middleweight bike that will make its debut in just three weeks. The new model will use a slightly detuned version of the company’s GSX-R 750’s engine. Besides the detuned engine, the bike will miss out the GSX-R 750’s radial-mount brake calipers, and most of the chassis will probably be pared back to meet lower price point. The bodywork and tank design is largely angular, providing the bike an agressive image. Read the full article »

Daimler reveals Smart eScooter

Daimler AG has released the first official photos and technical details of the Smart electric scooter which will be unveiled at the 2010 Paris Auto Show next week. The Smart escooter is addressing customers living in big cities who are looking for a practical, unconventional way of transport. Kawasaki’s new Z750R has a lot of good things going for it. The „R” version has some design tweaks, new fully adjustable forks and a revised rear shock. 2011 Honda Varadero 125 colours announced

The Varadero has long been a favourite for riders of all abilities since its launch in 2001. With the Varadero offering more generous proportions than many other 125cc machines, the bike became soon a favourite with urban riders, commuters and learners bike. The 15hp-strong bike weighs just 154kg and has a top speed of 108 km/h. The little Honda will get a slight visual tweak for the 2011 model year, with the addition of what’s described as a „sporty new colour”, the Pearl Sienna Red.
