Video: 2011 KTM 125 Duke officially named

After holding an online contest to name its 125cc learner street bike, KTM has decided what to name the bike: the KTM 125 Duke. This name was selected after month of speculation. The Austrian company tries to engage young riders with the „Ready to Race” mantra, making them lifetime Team Orange riders with this stepping-stone model. Kawasaki presents the 2011 ZX-10R at Nürburgring

After two months of teasing, the team at Kawasaki have finally decided to take the wraps of the latest Ninja racebike. The Japanese team has slowly been leaking photos and videos of the new ZX-10R through a massive online social marketing campaign, which centered around the company’s twitter account. The new Ninja will make its official debut at the Intermot show in October, which means the technical details are still unknown. Read the full article »

MV Agusta reveals top gun

MV Agusta, recently reclaimed by Italy from Harley-Davidson, hasn’t wasted any time in reminding everyone that it’s alive and kicking and still making „new” bikes. The company revealed this limited edition MV Agusta F4 Frecce Tricolori, bearing the livery of the Italian aerobatic team to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the national aerobatic team and the Aermacchi MB-339PAN that the squadron uses for its aerial displays. Read the full article »

2011 Yamaha 125cc and 250cc scooters with ABS

The Japanese manufacturer launched its 2011 scooters including new X-Max special versions and range-wide design updates. Highlights for 2011 includes ABS, as well as new special Sports and Business Editions of the X-Max 125, and a Sport edition of the X-Max 250. With the introduction of optional ABS on the Yamaha X-Max 250 and X-Max 125 models, riders can enjoy enhanced control in various riding conditions. Yamaha XT1200Z and FZ8 goes to USA

Both the Yamaha XT1200Z Super Ténéré and Yamaha FZ8, both previously the preserve of Europe, will be coming to the US next year. The big adventure tourer was launched in Europe last February, and it will be going on sale in the USA in May, 2011. The bike will carry a price tag of $13,900, that’s $1,000 less than the class-leading BMW R1200GS’s price tag. Performance should be relatively similar to that bike too, but the Japanese bike leaves the GS behind in rider aids: the Yamaha is equipped with ride-by wire throttle with two maps, three-mode traction control. Read the full article »

Video: 2011 Triumph Tiger Cub

The British manufacturer continues to release information about its 800cc three-cylinder Tiger Cub adventure model, which will come in two varieties for buyers. The first one will have a 21” knobby front tire, while the second one for asphalt will feature 17” wheels front and back. Both bikes share the same chassis and design, but there will be differences in suspension, seating and control layouts. California moves on loud pipes

Motorcyclists who swap their bikes’s stock exhaust systems for loud pipes may be more likely to get a traffic ticket under a California bill that passed the Senate on Monday. Two days ago the Committee on Transportation approved Senate Bill 435, also known as the Motorcycle Anti-Tampering Act, with an 8-4 vote, which would make it illegal to operate a 2011 or newer motorcycle with an exhaust system that doesn’t have an EPA label that certifies it as meeting noise limit standards. Read the full article »

Ténéré Expedition Tent Launched

The Nomad Tent Company have just announced the launch of the Ténéré Expedition Tent, an innovative concept inspired by the name of Yamaha’s new adventure bike. The tent is a three-season shelter for two persons and their motorcycle. “I want to stand up to change my clothes, I want a space to work on my bike.
