Both the Yamaha XT1200Z, also known as the Super Ténéré, and the Yamaha FZ8, will be coming to the american market next year. The 1200cc adventure bike was launched in Europe in February, 2010, and it will be going on sale in the USA in May, 2011. The bike will come with a price tag of $13,900, that’s exactly $1,000 less than the top seller BMW R1200GS’s price tag. The performance of the two bikes should be relatively similar, too, but the Japanese bike offers a wider  rider aids choice: the Yamaha features ride-by wire throttle with two maps, and three-mode traction control.

The other newbie, the FZ8 tries to steel some sales away from the popular Kawasaki Z750. Yamaha wants to fill the gap for sport riders who feel a 600cc is too small and a 1000cc is too big. The FZ1’s 799cc engine delivers 105hp, just 7 more than the 600cc FZ6, but has more power at low revs and 61 ft-lb maximum torque. The FZ8 will be priced at $8,490 and will be available late 2010/early 2011. The ABS version won’t be available for the American customers and neither will be the semi-faired Fazer8.
