MV Agusta enters the Canadian market

The iconic Italian brand will be available soon in Canada, as MV Agusta has named Motovan Corp. as its exclusive importer for the Canadian market. “We have finally succeeded in obtaining all of the necessary approvals from the Canadian authorities therefore the motorcycles can be imported into Canada for the very first time in the history of MV Agusta. KTM 250 Duke in the pipeline?

Since 2004, the Austrian company has consistently developed its on-road expertise. Both the 690 and 990 Dukes are exciting machines, while the newest member of the Duke family, the 125 was revealed earlier this year at the Intermot show in Cologne. The launch of a new Duke with a displacement of 250-300cc would be reasonable, and Stefan Pierer, the president of KTM confirmed this rumor to Alan Cathcart. Read the full article »

Study: safer doesn’t necessarily mean slower

Researchers at The University of Nottingham’s Centre for Motorcycle Ergonomics & Rider Human Factors have investigated the attitudes and skills of different types of riders according to their level of experience and training, using a motorcycle simulator. A unique approach was designed to find out whether or not riders with advanced training, ride differently to novice or experienced riders who don’t have an advanced qualification. The simulator uses a Triumph Daytona 675 motorcycle mounted on a custom rig designed and built at the University. Read the full article »

Ducati ST1200 Concept: the return of the ST?

The Italian manufacturer killed the ST name at the end of 2007 when Ducati sold just barely over 1,000 units of its sport-tourer. But since then, the brand has introduced the Multistrada model and the ST owners thought it’s a poor successor of their bike. But the Multistrada is more oriented for adventure so there is still a gap in the Italian’s lineup that some believe should be fitted. One of these persons is Italian designer Luca Bar who created this ST1200 Concept which draws inspiration from the Multistrada. Read the full article »

New MV Agusta F3 voted “most beutiful bike of EICMA”.

The completely new MV Agusta F3 was recently launched at the world’s biggest and most important motorcycle show, EICMA Milan, where Motociclismo magazine organised a poll to find ‘The Most Beautiful Bike of the Show’. Of over 12,000 votes cast, the F3 captured 39%, nearly twice that of the next entrant and well ahead of every other new model at the show. MV Agusta presented a one-off Brutale 990R dedicated to Milan

The Italian brand has dedicated a one-off Brutale 990R to the city of Milan. The bike, called the 990R Brand Milano, has been presented at Palazzo Marino, the town hall. „A combination of excellence between the metropolis that represents design and fashion and the most attractive bike on the market. Brammo going global, will produce motorcycles in Hungary

Brammo Inc. a leading electric vehicle technology company headquartered in Ashland Oregon has partnered with Singapore-based Flextronics to scale up its manufacturing operation. The American company is hoing to build an authorized dealer network in Europe and Brammo hopes the deal with Flextronics will help to bring down production costs, thanks to economies of scale. Rumours suggest the Brammo motorcycle will be produced for European customers at one of Flextronics’ facilities in Sarvar, Hungary. Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Competition launches in Dallas

A new elite-level custom motorcycle builder contest has been launched in the United States. The Ultimate Custom Bike Competition kicks off on November 12th, and will have 12 individual rounds of competition. The finale takes place during Daytona Progressive International Motorcycle Show, March 9-12, 2011. With more than 500 custom-built machines, the UBCSC is close to becoming tha largest cutom bike competition in North America. Read the full article »
