Buy Jorge Lorenzo’s special helmet for €10,000

Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo crowned his MotoGP World Championship with a win at the final round in Valencia on 7th November, wearing an extremely special version of the X-Lite X-802 helmet. It caused a sensation around the MotoGP paddock and the globe and, to celebrate Jorge’s stunning year, X-Lite will be producing a very limited number of hand-crafted replicas. Video: Bering motorcycle airbag test

For years airbags have been standard safety equipment on cars and trucks but few manufacturers have looked into adding airbags to motorcycles. Now motorcycle riders can also benefit from the protection of airbag systems on the motorcycle like the newest Honda Goldwing and from the airbag jackets like the MotoAir airbag jacket. Now, one of Europe’s leading motorcycle gear manufacturer, Bering is presenting its airbag vest that will hit the markets at the end of the year. Wunderlich Piranha – the naked BMW S1000 RR

BMW accessories and after parts specialist Wunderlich presented its one-off S1000 RR Piranha Edition in Cologne which is practically a naked version of the Bavarian’s superbike. The transformation kit, the creation of Wunderlich’s very own in-house designer, Nicolas Petite, is dominated by an aggressive carbon-fibre fairing and rounded off to perfection by the dynamic side panels. Dainese unveiled the D-Air Racing and Street airbag systems

Dainese presented the long-awaited D-air Racing, which has been in development since 2000 and is due to hit the market in late April / May 2011. D-air Racing has been tested over the last year by newly crowned MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo with team mate Valentino Rossi and also by road racing's lovable rouge Guy Martin. Nolan introduced its 2011 lineup

The Italian company launched its 2011 helmet lineup at the EICMA show last week. The new, enhanced lineup includes three new products: the N71, the N63 and the N33. The first one, the N71 is a „crossover” full-face helmet but has a removable chin guard. In the full-face configuration, the N71 offers maximum protection, and features internal sunscreen (VPS – Vision Protection System). The second helmet, the N63 is a new full-face road helmet designed for city use. The third helmet, the N33 is a demi-jet helmet suitable for city riding, but is also suitable for touring. Read the full article »

Schuberth introduced its new high-end race helmet, the SR1

The small German helmet maker introduced its newest high-end product, the SR1. The new helmet is incredible light – the medium sized version weighs just 1285g -, and has just 88db of noise level at 62mph. Being developed in the wind tunnel means that the SR1 has outstanding aeroacoustics - a prerequisite for concentration while riding. The helmet shell consists of S.T.R.O.N.G. fibre, a special glass fibre reinforced duroplastic matrix, and is produced in three helmet shell sizes. Suzuki Hayabusa gets air suspension

Platinum Air Suspension has introduced a new air ride technology for Suzuki Hayabusa. The system allows riders to set the rebound and ride height of their bike. The adjustment, which uses the company’s BLEED FEED technology, is made by the flip of a switch. "We feel it is critical not to compromise handling and full suspension movement when adjusting the ride height of a high performance motorcycle like the Suzuki Hayabusa," said Mike Ferris, owner of Platinum Air Suspension. Read the full article »
