Victory Motorcycles is currently developing a new sport engine for the upcoming Pikes Peak race and the manufacturer is slowly unveiling bits about the project. Victory did not release any technical details about the engine but according to rumors, they use the V-Twin of the Indian Scout as base for the project. The bike will be ridden by Don Canet at the Colorado Springs event on 28 June.

As we reported earlier, Victory is currently developing two race bikes, one for the Isle of Man TT, and one for the Pikes peak. The American manufacturer, known for its air-cooled and torquey V-Twins, is clearley shifting its focus towards higher performance bikes.

Victory did not release any official figures about the engine, but we already know a few details. The engine will have a capacity of 1,200cc and given its modern design, it will most likely produce above 140150 hp. Some say that the engine will be a tuned version of the Indian Scout’s V-Twin. Looking closer at the new video, this may be very well the case but we still have to wait for the official announcement.
