The Hard Enduro season would up this weekend in Portugal with the Red Bull XL Lagares challenging riders with amazing tracks and obstacles in and around the city of Porto. Red Bull KTM factory rider Andreas Lettenbichler of Germany finished overall fourth on a weekend that was dominated by the trials experts.

The competition went to Alfredo Gomez of Spain with veteran Graham Jarvis in second and Spain’s Mario Roman in third after two challenging days of competition, while KTM factory rider Andreas Lettenbichler finishes fourth on his KTM 300 EXC.

Lettenbichler admitted he had had his share of problems in Sunday’s race, saying: “In the beginning I couldn’t find a nice rhythm, I don’t know what happened, I got arm pump as well. But then I was running well and after the first lap I was two minutes behind Roman. I tried to push, but there were a lot of hobby and expert riders in the way and you have to wait. There was a lot of luck involved. It was a tough race.”

In addition to the usual logs, rocks and man-made obstacles, riders on Saturday had to ride at speed through the steep narrow streets, negotiate multiple steps, ride along the waterfront and across water on timber ramps.

On Saturday night the extreme experts then had to tackle some wild night riding and all this before facing the serious competition on Sunday.
