Red Bull KTM Factory rider Marvin Musquin finished 5th overall at the final round of the Lucas Oil 250 Pro Motocross Championship Series held at Miller Motorsports Park.

Marvin Musquin earned the 10th fastest time in the morning qualifying sessions to earn 10th gate pick for the first moto. Musquin earned a 4th place jump off the start but got pushed back to 8th position near the end of the first lap. On lap three, Musquin had moved up to 6th position and the next lap he picked off one more rider to grab 5th.

On the fifth lap Musquin made an impressive pass on fellow KTM rider Jason Anderson to take over 4th place and then set his sights on Joey Savatgy. He reeled in Savatgy over the length of the next lap and then made a pass to fall into podium position. Near the end of the race, Blake Baggett had caught Musquin and passed him to drop Musquin back to 4th. Musquin held on to that position and finished the moto in 4th place.

In the second moto, Musquin earned another decent jump off the line to come around the first corner in 4th place. On his KTM 250 SX-F he quickly moved into 3rd position on the next lap and then began closing in on 2nd place. He passed Savatgy for 2nd place on the next lap but lost three positions over the next two laps to a pack of riders charging through. He settled into 5th position throughout the majority of the race before kicking it up a notch for one more charge in the final two laps to reel in 4th place. He came within two bike lengths of making the pass but was unable to make it stick and finished 5th. Musquin’s 4-5 results earned him 5th overall for the day.

“I was really hoping to end the season on the podium,” stated Musquin“I am disappointed that I didn’t achieve that goal but overall I am happy with my season and glad to walk away healthy.”
