British newspaper The Telegraph reports that lorries belonging to the Kawasaki WSBK team were stopped by the UK Border Agency (UKBA) at Dover last month after arriving by road from Italy. On board of the trucks, officers allegedly found 18lbs of cocaine, 157lbs of amphetamine tablets and more than 220lbs of cannabis. A handgun and 35 rounds of ammunition were also found. Four technicians (Philip Roe, 40, mechanic and truck driver, Gary Matthews, 50, a truck driver and tyre technician; Mattia Fontana, 27, an Italian mechanic, and Daniel Swyer, 32, a mechanic) from Paul Bird Motorsport were arrested.

According to the newspaper, Formula 1 and other motorsports are facing a security clampdown.
