BMW to offer standard ABS on all 2012 motorcycles

BMW Motorrad USA announced today that it will be the first motorcycle manufacturer to offer ABS as standard equipment on its entire range of 2012 model year motorcycles. A recent study by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety revealed that motorcycles equipped with antilock brakes are 37 percent less likely to be involved in a fatal crash than models without ABS. BMW was the first motorcycle manufacturer to introduce ABS in 1988 and now offers a sixth generation and numerous ABS options across its product line. Read the full article »

Video: Dany Torres wins Red Bull X-Fighters Dubai

Dany Torres of Spain triumphed on Friday evening in the opening round of the 2011 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour in Dubai. A crowd of 15,000 fans witnessed the exciting Freestyle motocross showdown on the beach in front of the luxurious metropolis on the Arabian Golf. Harley-Davidson branded license plates in Wisconsin

Wisconsin motorists have a new opportunity to support motorcycle safety initiatives throughout the state. Harley-Davidson Motor Company today announced it is partnering with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to offer the first-ever Harley-Davidson branded automotive license plate to motorists in Wisconsin. This plate will be available for automobiles, light trucks and motor homes. The Harley-Davidson/Share the Road plate officially launches on Wednesday, April 13. Read the full article »

Lito Sora: new electric motorcycle from Canada

Canadian firm Lito - Green Motion has introduced a new electric motorcycle. The Sora features the best design elements of Bobber and Cafe Racer/Street Fighter bikes, combined in one electric superbike. The Bobber influence can be seen in the rear fender that is fixed to the wheel, while the Street Fighter influence can be seen in the dynamics of the front of the bike.
