Praised for its ability to perform both on and off road, the new Triumph Tiger 800 is set to become a popular choice for touring and adventure riders. As any long distance rider knows though, it’s the details that make the difference, so German engineering specialists, SW Motech, have introduced a comprehensive range of accessories and add-ons so owners can tailor their Tiger for any journey.

Ergonomics: Comfort is key for long days in the saddle, and the SW Motech Footrest Kit is designed to offer that little bit of luxury for the long distance rider. Features include a large contact area with removable rubber insert, to help absorb vibration and shocks. Adjustabile for two positions – standard and 15mm lower – a special profile ensures a firm grip. Kits start from just £100.79.

Riders can also benefit from Handlebar Risers for a more upright and relaxed riding position. Bars can be raised from 20 to 50mm and pulled back towards the rider for the perfect fit. Kits usually require no modification to the cables, wiring or top yoke and are compatible with the original bars. Prices start at £40.28.

Carrying capacity: A spacious and versatile luggage system is a must for any traveller, and Tiger owners can carry all their travel essentials in the latest SW Motech Trax Evo aluminum side and top cases. Waterproof, manufactured from corrosion-resistant aluminium with fibre-reinforced hinges, Trax side and top cases offer from 37-45 litres, whilst adding minimal weight. Cases can be attached with the new EVO Carriers; their patented Quick-Lock system means that not only the cases but also the carriers can be removed in seconds. Cases start from £241.97 each, side carriers from £201.64 per pair and luggage racks for £90.71. For those requiring extra storage, SW Motech’s Quick Lock Tankbags are available for the Tigertoo. Quick and easy to fit and remove, with the unique tank ring system, they offer extra storage and quick and easy access to travel documents, maps and other essentials. A 12V Quick Lock Socket option enables charging of Sat Nav systems and mobile phones. Prices start at £60.46 for the Daypack and £25.16 for the tank ring adapter.

Protection: Protecting both rider and machine is crucial to ensure hassle free travel, so SW Motech have added Handguards (£100.79 ) to the Tiger catalogue; specifically designed to help keep wind, weather and bushes / branches etc. away from the fingers and controls. Engine Crash bars (£171.38) and an alloy bash plate (£181.46) will help protect from potentially costly and frustrating damage from low speed falls or uneven ground; and a tough, but lightweight alloy Chain Guard (£50.36) helps prevent chain lube, dirt and debris from being thrown onto other components, luggage, etc. Other accessories , designed specifically for the new Tiger 800 and 800 XC include Auxiliary Spot Lights, rear view Mirror Extenders, GPS Mounts and a handy Centre Stand.
