Vyrus 986 M2 official photo

Small Italian manufacturer Vyrus released a photo of its newest motorcycle, the 986 M2. The official premiere of the M2 will be held at the next Verona Motor Bike Expo in Veronafiere, from January 21 to 23. The bike designed around Honda CBR 600 RR engine will not only be available to Moto2 racing teams, but Vyrus will release a street version in March 2011. Vyrus says the race version will be characterized by a very affordable price. Read the full article »

Dakar – stage 11 video summary

370 kilometres was the distance of the timed section on offer to Cyril Despres to try and buck the trend after his severe setback the day before. It seemed to be a delicate assignment for the title holder, with him being 18'10” behind Marc Coma in the general standings. Setting off in the position of pursuer, 2 minutes after his rival, the Frenchman logically gained ground during the first part of the special, totalling 1'31 after 224 km, a good score, but not sufficient to worry the Catalan. Read the full article »

Honda Stateline Slammer Bagger Concept

The Slammer Bagger Concept was designed by a member of Honda Research & Development Americas located in Southern California. “Based on a 2010 Stateline, designer Erik Dunshee reveals the life of low. Fueled by elegance and power the Slammer sports a fully adjustable air-ride suspension, NAV/Multimedia, 10" subwoofer and 500 watts of power. With a full front end conversion, including a lean 23" custom wheel, the designer achieved all this without frame or engine modification. Michelin introduced two new road tyres

In January 2011, Michelin will bring to market two new motorcycle tyres designed for road use. The new Pilot Road 3 range will target users of sport touring bikes while a new version of the Power Pure sports tyre will be added to the current lineup. Spearheading the sport touring lineup, the Pilot Road 3 was designed to deliver superior grip in all conditions of use as well as outstanding total mileage. 2010 Honda Sabre Switchblade Concept

Honda’s American R&D arm has revealed a concept bike based on the VT1300. The Sabre Switchblade, which took styling cues from Formula 1 and MotoGP, features the VT1300’s engine & tank, fully adjustable sport suspension, carbon fibre custom bodywork and spec seat, chain drive, single sided swing arm conversion, racing spec brakes, carbon fibre 18” rear wheel, onboard GPS lap timer & data acquisition unit, oversized Billet Top and lower bridge, air/box cleaner conversion. Read the full article »

Video: unveiling the Ducati Desmosedici GP11

Ducati revealed the Desmosedici GP11 race bike yesterday, und today, we have a video of the event. Ducati likes to do things in style, that’s for sure. The press conference was held at Madonna di Campiglio, Trento, Italy. Rossi’s bike features luminous yellow painting and number 46. Dakar – stage 10 video summary

The return to Argentine territory of the Personal Dakar Argentina-Chile 2011 turned out to be very complicated for the challengers. Despite setting off behind Cyril Despres, his main rival for the bike title, Marc Coma took advantage of a major mistake by the Frenchman to put one hand on the trophy. On completion of the 10th stage, the Catalan now has a lead of 19' over Despres as well as a third special stage victory. Read the full article »

Video: Electric superbike podiums against gas bikes

Chip Yates is an AMA Pro Racer who decided in 2009 that he will build an electric superbike that beats gas bikes. Well, the time has come, Chip and the SWIGZ.com Pro Racing Team made history yesterday, finishing second and third against gas-powered competitors in the WERA Heavyweight Twins classes at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. Ducati Desmosedici GP11: Rossi’s new ride

After Yamaha released Valentino Rossi, the Italian driver can officially begin his work at Ducati Corse this week, and Ducati didn’t waste any time and they released a set of photos of their 2011 race bike. For a real Ducati fan, probably these are the most anticipated photos of the year. The Desmosedici GP11 was unveiled at a joint event with Ferrari in the Dolomite mountains.
