Brembo to supply Suzuki brakes

Brembo and Suzuki signed a three-year new agreement that sees the Italian company supplying Suzuki with brake calipers for its GSX-R line. The two companies are already cooperating in the MotoGP for years. With this agreement, Brembo reconfirms its position as one of the favourite suppliers of the big motorcycle manufacturers. This list is quite impressive: Aprilia, BMW, BRP-Bombardier Recreational Products, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Husqvarna, KTM, Moto Guzzi, MV Augusta, Piaggio, Triumph and Yamaha. Read the full article »

Ducati Diavel prototype revealed

The Ducati Diavel will be officially revealed next month at the Milan EICMA show but thanks to the Ducati News Today, we can show you how the first prototype looked like. The pictures were taken 18 month ago in Los Angeles as the bike was created up for a trip back to Europe. This prototype has only one exhaust and a custom swing arm. The Diavel obviously evolved in the last 18 months and we are curious about the production version of Ducati’s big cruiser. Read the full article »

Video: 2011 Kawasaki Z1000

Kawasaki released the official photos and a video of its popular Z1000 street naked which will get a facelift for the 2011 model year. The bike features the same 1043cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, four valves per cylinder engine as its predecessor but the Japanese brand offers now new accessories which offer more protection and boost the bike’s visual appeal even further. 2011 Suzuki GSX1250FA confirmed for America

The North American division of Suzuki has announced the arrival of the 2011 GSX1250FA for its 2011 lineup. The fully-faired version of the Bandit features a liquid-cooled 1255cc inline-four which produces 98hp at 7500rpm and 108Nm at 3700rpm. The GSX1250FA offers sporty, aggressive styling courtesy of its full body fairing and stacked headlight assembly, which was also incorporated into the GSX-R sportbike models. Read the full article »

Study: ATVs accidents more deadlier than motorcycles

A new report has came out that comes to a somewhat surprising conclusion: four-wheeled all terrain vehicles are more likely to kill riders than off-road motorcycles. According to researchers from Johns Hopkins Center for Surgery Trials and Outcomes Research, while the initial injuries was similar for both groups, those injured on ATV suffered far worse fates. Victims of ATV crashes are 50 percent more likely to die than people injured while crashing in Motocross and other off-road motorcycle events. Read the full article »

EU wants cleaner bikes, stock ABS and daytime headlights from 2013

The European Commission wants European motorbikes to have ABS, cleaner engines and daytime headlights starting in 2013, according to a Reuters report. The proposed regulations include details of future emissions regulations and changes to the detailed technical specifications of all bikes. The most significant element is, that EU wants to make ABS a legal requirement on all new models. Even bikes under 125cc will have to be fitted either with ABS or with combined brakes, while everything over that size will be forced to have anti-lock as standard. Read the full article »

Video: 2011 KTM 990 Supermoto T gets ABS

The Austrian company introduced the new 990 SM T with the addition of dual-channel ABS system engineered by Bosch at the Intermot show this week. Just how good are the new brakes? KTM calls its new 990 SM T the “Queen of negative acceleration.” The bike features dual 305mm discs front and 240mm rotor back. With a six-speed transmission, upright seating position and host of bolt-on goodies from the PowerParts catalog, the SM T could very well prove to be the ultimate street bike. Read the full article »

The newest edition to the VN1700 line-up, Kawasaki’s first bagger model follows a wide-and-low concept, its design flowing from the front to the rear of the bike.
