FGR 2500 V6: the most powerful production bike in the world

FGR 2500 V6: 2442cc, 240hp, more than 200 Nm of torque. Forget the Germans, Japanese and Italians. It’s Czech. For real. Czech-based 125cc MotoGP team and bike manufacturer FGR introduced one hell of a bike. The FGR 2500 V6 is equipped with a 2442cc 90-degree V6 that produces 240hp and more than 200 Nm of torque. Estimated mileage is 12-16 km/l (6-8 l/100 km). With its 270 kg total weight, the FGR is relatively light, thanks to its carbon-fibre seat unit and a fuel tank of the same material, while the chassis is a straightforward trellis-stye design. Read the full article »

Marc Coma reached his third Dakar victory

Avoid trembling was the motto of the day. En route to Santiago de Baradero, Marc Coma started with more than 16' lead in the general standings on his long-term contender Cyril Despres. The risk of seeing this lead go to waste for title holder was almost nil for the title holder, so the big challenge of this special stage was to stay focused. Video: Kawasaki ZX-10R vs. Mazda RX-7

The Mazda RX-7 is a great choice for drifting, it has enough power (especially the special RX-7 in the video which features the Corvette’s 375hp LS engine) and it’s rear wheel drive. But can you drift on a bike? Icon Motorsports rider Nick „Apex” Brocha answers this question with a big yes. The challenger of its modded 2005 Kawasaki ZX-10R is Jim Guthrie and his V8-powered RX-7. TTXGP to race in Sweden

TTXGP are pleased to announce a new venue for the TTXGP Euro series: Track Gellerasen in Sweden will play host to the first TTXGP race in the country. Track Gelleråsen was built 1950 and as such is the oldest permanent racing facility in Sweden . The former Grand prix track is 2.4km long and very technical with all the different types of turns and a good straight. Vyrus 986 M2 official photo

Small Italian manufacturer Vyrus released a photo of its newest motorcycle, the 986 M2. The official premiere of the M2 will be held at the next Verona Motor Bike Expo in Veronafiere, from January 21 to 23. The bike designed around Honda CBR 600 RR engine will not only be available to Moto2 racing teams, but Vyrus will release a street version in March 2011. Dakar – stage 11 video summary

370 kilometres was the distance of the timed section on offer to Cyril Despres to try and buck the trend after his severe setback the day before. It seemed to be a delicate assignment for the title holder, with him being 18'10” behind Marc Coma in the general standings. Setting off in the position of pursuer, 2 minutes after his rival, the Frenchman logically gained ground during the first part of the special, totalling 1'31 after 224 km, a good score, but not sufficient to worry the Catalan. Read the full article »

The Slammer Bagger Concept was designed by a member of Honda Research & Development Americas located in Southern California. “Based on a 2010 Stateline, designer Erik Dunshee reveals the life of low. Fueled by elegance and power the Slammer sports a fully adjustable air-ride suspension, NAV/Multimedia, 10" subwoofer and 500 watts of power. With a full front end conversion, including a lean 23" custom wheel, the designer achieved all this without frame or engine modification. Michelin introduced two new road tyres

In January 2011, Michelin will bring to market two new motorcycle tyres designed for road use. The new Pilot Road 3 range will target users of sport touring bikes while a new version of the Power Pure sports tyre will be added to the current lineup. Spearheading the sport touring lineup, the Pilot Road 3 was designed to deliver superior grip in all conditions of use as well as outstanding total mileage. 2010 Honda Sabre Switchblade Concept

Honda’s American R&D arm has revealed a concept bike based on the VT1300. The Sabre Switchblade, which took styling cues from Formula 1 and MotoGP, features the VT1300’s engine & tank, fully adjustable sport suspension, carbon fibre custom bodywork and spec seat, chain drive, single sided swing arm conversion, racing spec brakes, carbon fibre 18” rear wheel, onboard GPS lap timer & data acquisition unit, oversized Billet Top and lower bridge, air/box cleaner conversion. Read the full article »
