Video: Bering motorcycle airbag test

For years airbags have been standard safety equipment on cars and trucks but few manufacturers have looked into adding airbags to motorcycles. Now motorcycle riders can also benefit from the protection of airbag systems on the motorcycle like the newest Honda Goldwing and from the airbag jackets like the MotoAir airbag jacket. Now, one of Europe’s leading motorcycle gear manufacturer, Bering is presenting its airbag vest that will hit the markets at the end of the year. Wunderlich Piranha – the naked BMW S1000 RR

BMW accessories and after parts specialist Wunderlich presented its one-off S1000 RR Piranha Edition in Cologne which is practically a naked version of the Bavarian’s superbike. The transformation kit, the creation of Wunderlich’s very own in-house designer, Nicolas Petite, is dominated by an aggressive carbon-fibre fairing and rounded off to perfection by the dynamic side panels. 2011 Triumph Bonneville T100: Retro meets modern

The British brand introduced the newest member of its 2011 lineup, the new Bonneville T100. The iconic model uses a 865cc parallel-twin double overhead camshaft engine that delivers 68hp. Neat retro touches like the fake carburettors that hide the fuel injectors, dummy pushrod tubes and positioning of the ignition key pay respect to Bonneville legend. The two-tone colour options complement the traditional Bonneville styling and have the added touch of gold or silver coachlines, painted by hand just as they always have been. Read the full article »

Video: Four-wheeled scooter revealed

The three-wheeled scooter concept is not new, Piaggio has the popular MP3 models in its lineup but a young Italian manufacturer has come up now with a brand new, four-wheeled scooter concept. The Quadro 4D will be the first vehicle of its kind on the market. The combination of four wheels positioned closely together and the hydraulic tilting technology allow this unique vehicle a range of performance not yet paralleled in the industry—think stairs, curbs, potholes are no obstacle. UNO – Innovative Electric Motorcycle for $25,000

A young inventor has created a motorcycle concept with a twist – it uses two wheels but they are positioned right next to each other, giving it the illusion of being a powered unicycle. The Massachussets-based company, BPG Motors is about to revolutionize the two-wheeled world with the UNO motorcycle. The chairman and founder of the company, 21-year-old inventor Ben Gulak says the bike will have the performanve of a maxi scooter but can turn 360 degrees in a 3 foot area. Read the full article »

Brammo going global, will produce motorcycles in Hungary

Brammo Inc. a leading electric vehicle technology company headquartered in Ashland Oregon has partnered with Singapore-based Flextronics to scale up its manufacturing operation. The American company is hoing to build an authorized dealer network in Europe and Brammo hopes the deal with Flextronics will help to bring down production costs, thanks to economies of scale. Rumours suggest the Brammo motorcycle will be produced for European customers at one of Flextronics’ facilities in Sarvar, Hungary. Snake Road Concept: bite the road

We have seen a lot of unusual motorcycle concepts but the latest creation of Belgian designer Bruno Delussu is a real killer. Inspired by Daniel Simon’s Cosmic Motors series, Delussu made this Snake Road motorcycle concept. The bike features a fiberglass body to house an internal combustion engine. 2011 Honda CBR125R – 125cc screamer joins Honda’s CBR family

Witness the 2011 Honda CBR125R, which is set to join the Aprilia RS4 and KTM 125 Duke in Europe. The 125cc sportsbike class is getting more and more crowded, and the newest member of this category comes from Honda Thailand. The Japanese brand wanted to build a 125cc sportsbike with the look and feel of a bigger, more expensive machine. Honda updated the SH 300 maxi scooter for 2011

The Japanese brand updated its largest, 300cc SH scooter for the 2011 model year. The bike got new frame design, suspension, premium leather seat and 19” cast aluminium wheels, which gave the scooter better high-speed stability. The new model also features the brand’s combined ABS braking system and a long list of accessories such as colour-matched topbox, windscreen and heated grips. The engine didn’t change, though, the 279cc single-cylinder still delivers 27hp at 6000rpm. Read the full article »
