Italian manufacturer Ducati has just released the first images and initial details of its 2011 848 EVO machine that comes to replace the 848 middleweight bike. The engineers have listened to owners and enhanced the bikes specifications. The 849cc Testastretta V-twin engine cracks out 140hp now while torque has increased from 96Nm to 98Nm.

But the engine is not the only thing that has been refined. The “EVO” treatment enhanced the braking power of Brembo’s monobloc brake technology. In addition to the traditional Ducati red color skin with red frame and black wheels, the model is also available in a new “dark stealth” with racing black frame and black wheels. The 2011 EVO weights only 168kg and customers that are interesting in purchasing it can place their orders starting from today, July 20th, 2010. “In pursuit of perfection, Ducati engineers have listened to passionate owners of the 848 Superbike since its delivery in 2008 and now enhance its specifications to deliver impressive performances whether riding through mid-town traffic or racing through track-day competition,” a company statement reads.
