Arai unveils RX-7 GP IOMTT helmet

The latest limited edition helmet design commemorating the Isle of Man TT has been unveiled by leading motorsport helmet manufacturer Arai. The helmet was designed by top Italian designer Aldo Drudi, who has also designed helmets for top motorcycle racers including Marco Luchinelli, Kevin Schwantz, Mick Doohan, Alex Crivillé, Kenny Roberts Jr, Marco Melandri, Manuel Poggiali and Valentino Rossi. Wunderlich Vario ERGO+ spoiler launched

Wunderlich presented its frequently updated 2011 catalog which contains the new Vario ERGO+ spoiler. This is a simple spoiler attachment on the top of the screen that eliminates air turbulence and transport wind energy over the head of the rider. The motorcycle builder who will never run out of time – wristwatch motorcycles

Brazilian artist Jose Geraldo Reis Pfau creates gorgeous motorcycle miniatures using only parts from old wristwatches. The inspiration for the sculptures came from other similar pieces of art. He started this project using regular keys, developing motorcycle images. Through research in publications and web sites he got to know of other artists who have been working on a similar project. There are wonderful pieces of work made of wood, potery, screws, wires, but the ones identified exclusively with pieces of watches and glasses seem to be something new. Read the full article »

Triumph lifestyle accessories by design students

MA Product design students at the Birmingham Institute of Art & Design have produced a collection of prototype accessories. Students have drawn inspiration from the Triumph Bonneville T100. The collection of 18 alternative lifestyle „accessories”were judged by a team from Triumph. Following their deliberations the judges chose British student, Nick Orme’s, ‘Corkscrew’, incorporating a brake lever assembly, as the winning prototype design awarding him a placement at Triumph. Read the full article »

British wheel manufacturer Dymag returns

Old British wheel manufacturer Dymag bounces back. In January 2010, CSA International Ltd acquired the assets of Dymag Racing UK Limited from the liquidator, and with the help of Dymag engineers and experts is bringing the Dymag brand back to market, with an initial focus on motorcycle wheels.
