Sims Motorsports returns with a special monster: a 1510cc Suzuki Hayabusa that is capable of reaching a top speed of 213 mph or 370 km/h. The list of modifications on this bike is very long: bored-out engine, forged pistons, high-lift camshafts with adjustable cam sprockets, stainless steel valves, ceramic bearings in the front and rear wheels for reduced rolling friction, two-stage lockup clutch, Schnitz PNC-3000 nitrous controller and Bazzaz Z-Fi fuel computer.
In addition to that, the bike features double bubble windscreen, carbon fibre wheels, Avon VP2 Sport tyres, Brock’s Performance titanium exhaust system, Öhlins forks, fully adjustable rear shock, Beringer brakes and extended swingarm .
“Every other bike I’ve built was owned by someone else” said Sims,”so this time I wanted to build something that I could keep, and ride on the street. I got tired of seeing all these ‘blinged out’ ‘Busas running around that were all show and no go, and Hayabusa owners spend a lot more money than the other bike owners at my shop, so I knew a ‘Busa was going to be the starting point for my own bike.”
Richard tweaked the engine rev limiter which allows the motor to rev up to 12,000rpm. Sims claims the bike will able to reach a top speed of 213mpg or 370 km/h.
