On-board video: World’s fastest Suzuki Hayabusa goes 278mph

At the Texas Mile, October 2010, Bill Warner of Wild Bros Racing goes 278.6 mph (448.36 km/h) in a standing start mile, on a 650rwhp turbo charged Suzuki Hayabusa Streetbike. On-board video taken facing rearward using an AiM Sports SmartyCam with in-video display of GPS speed. The 2011 Victory Vision trike has arrived

Lehman Trikes is a small company that has become the premier name in three-wheel motorcycles. The Dakota-based firm has now introduced its latest model, the 2011 Crossbow. The trike is built around the engine of the Victory Vision. The 1731cc V-twin delivers 92hp and 109 lb.ft. (148 Nm), which has to be enough to move the heavy, 1,187lbs trike. New colors for 2011 Kawasaki Ninja 650R

For 2011, Kawasaki’s Ninja 650R, also known as the ER-6f will receive new colors and graphics. The bike will be available in Metallic Spark Black / Flat Super Black and in Candy Burnt Orange / Flat Super Black. Technically, the bike got no major updates. The 650R is powered by a 8-valve 649cc parallel twin engine which delivers 72hp and 66 Nm of torque. The 650R offers serious low-end grunt boosted by digital fuel injection, light weight, and a beautiful chassis that will keep riders smiling from ear to ear whether they’re riding in the canyons or commuting on city streets. Read the full article »

Harley loaned $2.3 billion from Fed

Federal Reserve’s recently revealed documents disclose who benefited from a government loan program during 2008. The data shows that Federal Reserve secretly loaned trillions of dollars to major companies including Harley-Davidson. The motorcycle manufacturer got $2.3 billion to help cover operating expenses during the economic crisis. Bloomberg says the money was from the Fed’s Commercial Paper Funding Facility, which also dispersed money to General Electric, Verizon, Barclay’s and McDonalds. Read the full article »

American Honda announced racing plans for 2011

In 2011, Honda welcomes two new riders who will contest both the AMA Supercross Championship and AMA Motocross Championship aboard Honda CRF450R race machines. Video: 2011 Honda CBR250R US price announced

Honda’s new entry-level sportsbike, the CBR250R has already started arriving to the United States. The bike will arrive in U.S. dealers in Spring 2011 and be available in two colors, Metallic Black and Red/Silver. The standard version will have a price tag of $3,999MSRP, while the ABS-equipped version will cost $4,499MSRP. The light and narrow CBR250R features a newly-developed liquid-cooled 249cc 4-stroke 4-valve single-cylinder engine coupled with a six-speed gearbox.
