To match this definition, four guys - Nils Ferber, Sebastian Auray, Ruben Faber and Ludolf von Oldershausen - couldn´t just modify an existing vehicle but had to start designing something new from scratch.
BPG Motors unveiled the newest generation of its Uno transforming scooter, the Uno III. The mini-motorcycle is small enough to fit in an elevator to bring up to an apartment and stable enough to handle Boston’s morning rush hour. The Uno now has three wheels. In Uno mode, the Uno is a unicycle that balances on a single pair of parallel wheels. At high speed, a middle wheel rolls forward and the outer wheels shift backwards transforming the Unicycle into a full streetbike. This system allows the Uno to be stable throughout the transition. Read the full article »

In the capable hands of two professional female racers – Vanina Ickx and Jenny Tinmouth – car and bike battled it out to test speed, agility and performance in the all-electric shoot-out of four wheels against two. Piloting Survolt was Vanina Ickx – Le Mans Series and Touring Car racing driver and daughter of Formula One driver, Jacky Ickx. Riding the Agni Z2 was Jenny Tinmouth, the fastest woman around the Isle of Man TT course and championship leader in the 2010 TTXGP. Read the full article »

From this yar on there is a whole new category on the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy for electric motorcycles.
KTM, Zero Motorcycles, Motoczysz - just a few from those old/new manufacturers who started to produce electric two-wheelers in the last couple of years. The electric motorcycles clearly moves the young designers mind, too. This concept belongs to design student Andre Look. The designer used hi-tech materials for the frame and bodywork, four motors and batteries that can swapped in seconds, the bike's power output is 200hp. A secondary motor housed within the swingarm boosts power by a further 25hp. Read the full article »

The Duka concept combines traditional looks with advanced electric components, which allows the driver to personalize the bike easily. Designed by Miyhael Logue, the Duka lets you enjoy high speed biking and yet remain manageable around the city. The motorcycle features an aluminium frame structure, this should be a safe and durable cruiser with a low center of gravity and comfortable riding position. The Duka is powered by two compact, yet efficient electric motors, but performance is unknown. Read the full article »
