The development of the highly anticipated three cylinder hypersport is advancing rapidly in MV Agusta. Kilometer after kilometer on the track and on the road it is becoming ever more evident that this new model from MV will become the reference by which all other middle-weight hypersport motorcycles will be judged. The F3 has already exceeded the high expectations of the development team with regards to power and handling. Read the full article »

For the 2011 model year, the Suzuki GSX-R 600 received some technical updates. The new GSX-R is a bit shorter, which makes it easier to handle, while the new aluminium chassis is lighter than its predecessor’s. The brand new engine is one of the smallest in the 600cc segment and uses the classic RAM-Air direct injection. The exhaust and air valves are all made from titanium, which further contributes to the weight loss. The brake system comes from Italian brake specialist Brembo. Check the bike out in our huge gallery. Read the full article »

2011 looks like the end of the road for the current R1 as we know because the 2012 version will be a brand new, radical machine. You could ask, why do we think that? Because the Japanese only add graphics to their top-of-the-line sportsbike, instead of making improvements to the handling/engine/suspension. The 2011 version features the same 998cc, DOHC, four-valve in-line which produces 182hp at 12,500rpm and 85 lb.ft. at 10,000rpm. The bike has a fuel consumption of 40mpg (5,88 l/100km). Read the full article »

BMW accessories and after parts specialist Wunderlich presented its one-off S1000 RR Piranha Edition in Cologne which is practically a naked version of the Bavarian’s superbike. The transformation kit, the creation of Wunderlich’s very own in-house designer, Nicolas Petite, is dominated by an aggressive carbon-fibre fairing and rounded off to perfection by the dynamic side panels. In the innovative XENON headlight, which needs only one bulb, an electro-magnetically actuated shutter makes the switch from low to full-beam. Read the full article »

The new MV Agusta – the anticipated F3 – is finally out. The Italian manifacturer says the F3 is the most technologically advanced 600cc motorcycle ever produced. Thebike features a whole range of electronics – ride-by-wire with multi maps, traction control. The bike has an advanced frame which incorporates a mix of steel tubing and aluminium side plates that wrap around the ultra compact engine. The compact engine dimensions left the maximum liberty to design the most advanced chassis on the market. Read the full article »

The 2011 ZX-10R features Kawasaki’s sport traction control, the S-KTRC. This system comes straight from the race track (MotoGP), and the manufacturer released a video now, which explains the difference between a normal traction control and the S-KTRC. The ZX-10R’s system constantly monitors the separate speeds of the front and rear wheels, engine RPM, throttle position, acceleration and other factors. When the S-KTRC recognizes a small amount of slip, reacts in five milliseconds, altering engine ignition. Read the full article »

Finally breaking cover officially, the Japanese brand revealed the 2011 ZX-10R at Intermot show in Cologne. 2010 was an interesting year in the superbike segment, the BMW S1000 RR arrived with a lot of noise. Now, it’s Kawas’ turn. The numbers suggest the new ZX-10R will be a monster with its 200hp at the crank power figure (210hp with ram air) and 436.6lbs curb weight. Unfortunately, the US market will get only 190hp for emissions. Read the full article »

Honda reveals new colours for some of its most popular models at the 2010 Intermot show in Cologne. The two new options for the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade include the HRC factory race-inspired tricolour and the stealth looking all graphite black. Similar to it’s bigger brother, the CBR600RR gets the tricolour and graphite black, but there is a new design for the electro generation. Honda’s design team have gone with a bright orange with faux exposed internals. Unfortunately, the specifications for both machines remain the same. Read the full article »

Suzuki unveiled three brand new models today at the Intermot Motorcycle Show in Cologne, Germany, with the iconic GSX-R range getting all-new 600 and 750 models, along with the debut of a new naked middleweight - the GSR750. Unveiled on the Suzuki exhibition stand at 9.00am local time, the new GSX-R600 boasts heightened performance levels thanks to MotoGP inspired development that has seen the new bike shed an impressive nine kilograms over its predecessor, thanks partly to an all-new chassis that has a 15mm shorter wheelbase, as well as Showa Big Piston Forks. Read the full article »

After seeing the Agni Z2 and the Citroen Survolt take to the track, here’s another bikes vs. cars comparison video. The BMW S1000 RR is without doubt one of the biggest hit in the supersport category in 2010, while the GT-R even managed to compete on equal terms with Porsche of late. We already know how well the Bimmer against its Japanese and Italian two-wheeler rivals performs, but what about cars? The guys at Bike Channel thought the Nissan GT-R could be a proper rival at Brands Hatch race track. Who do you think came out top? Read the full article »

The BMW S1000 RR made a spectacular entry into the supersport class last year, but the Japanese manufacturers don’t like the idea that the Bavarians steal their customers, so Kawasaki is going to strike back with a strongly revised ZX-10R for 2011. Read the full article »

The RSV4's V4 engine delivers power more predictable than either an inline-four or a V-twin, but even these properties aren't enough to mask the RSV4's lack of traction control. New rumours suggest the italians will offer soon ABS and traction control system on the RSV4, which isn't a surprise, knowing that Aprilia is developing such packages for the Tuono V4. With BMW offering ABS and traction control on the S1000 RR and Ducati featuring DTC on the 1198S, Aprilia would be the only manufacturer to offer these features in 2011. Read the full article »

The Cannonball Kit features new ECU, cylinder head, camshafts, valves and titanium exhaust system. The kit raises horsepower by 21 for a new total of 165. Read the full article »

The italians are clearly poking BMW in the eye with this video, in which their motto is: "Tricks are not our talent. Winning is. "Aprilia doubles in the World Superbike at Miller Motorsports Park, Monza and Portimao, while BMW's best result was a 3rd place. Read the full article »

With the BMW S1000 RR the japanese manufacturers got a new, serious competitor in the superbike category so it's no news that Kawasaki will completely redesign its ZX-10R for 2011. The new bike will feature an all-new engine, chassis and suspension with a complete styling makeover. Rumours suggest the four-cylinder engine will be capable of 190 hp, so the bike will be insanely fast. Looks good on the video but the main question is: does it handle better than the 2010 version? Read the full article »

Brock's Performance tuned up the bavarians supersport machine, the S1000 RR. The BMW sends 203hp and 80 lb/ft of torque to the rear wheel, although the only change was a new ECU and exhaust system. Besides, the bike got BST carbon wheels, MacIntosh extended swingarm and lowered suspension. After the treatment, the S1000 RR ran the 1/4 mile in 8.49 seconds, while it's top speed was 158.46 mph. No doubt, the german superbike has incredible tuning potencial. The bike will compete in the AMA Dragbike Supersport class, but only after receiving nitrous injection. Read the full article »

Honda was the very first motorcycle factory which offered dual clutch transmission. The fast transmission, which adds nearly 10% to the price of the standard $16 000 dollar bike, was introduced in the VFR1200 F. But designing a revolutionary new transmission isn't cheap, so Honda wants to spread the system across its range. To do that, they need to revise it so it can fit is smaller models, like the Fireblade. Another key element is the simplifying the electronics and sensors, reaching the same effect as the VFR's, but with reduced costs. Honda Japan has filed patents that shows this simplified system. The new design eliminates one expensive potentiometer used on the VFR. If they succeed, the dual-clutch Fireblade could appear in two years. Read the full article »

Don't try this at home with your dishes. Or your mom's ones.
