Spanish motorcycle magazine Solomoto was able to take a photo of BMW’s new-generation R1200 GS Adventure. The magazine claims that the new GS will feature a brand new, liquid-cooled boxer engine. Although the spy shots are poor quality, what matters is not the quality, but the news. The R1200 GS’s new engine externally looks the same, but the first thing you notice is that the final drive and shaft drive are located on the left hand side of the bike, totally backwards from the current R1200GS. Read the full article »

According to Nieuwsmotor, KTM will introduce the new Super Duke and Adventure lineup in late 2012 and 2013. The Dutch magazine visited the Austrian’s factory in Mattighofen, where they were able to speak to Robert Prielinger, Head of Development of Street Bikes. Prielinger shared some interesting details about KTM’s new model lineup. Nieuwsmotor says the new Super Duke will feature a higher-state of tune, 700cc single-cylinder engine and less agressive design than previous model. Read the full article »

The EICMA show starts on Monday in Milan, but the japanese manufacturer already released a full design sketch of its mid-range capacity crossover model. The bike combines the CB1000R’s design cues with a smaller version of Honda’s V4 engine. Rumours suggest the machine will use a 800cc engine, along with traction control and engine mapping. Honda says, "This mid-range machine is an exciting new approach – a crossover machine that represents the best aspects of two separate biking genres. Read the full article »

After all sorts of spy shots and official teaser videos we have got the genuine photos of the new Triumph Tiger 800. The bike will have two versions, the standard 800 and the 800XC. On the pictures, we can see the off-road version, the XC, which features 21-inch front wheel with knobby tires and extended front mudguard. The bike will be powered by the Daytona 675’s engine displacing 800cc. The little Tiger will weight about 440lbs and the engine will produce a little less power and a little more torque than the Daytona’s 124hp and 53lb/ft. Read the full article »

Both the Yamaha XT1200Z Super Ténéré and Yamaha FZ8, both previously the preserve of Europe, will be coming to the US next year. The big adventure tourer was launched in Europe last February, and it will be going on sale in the USA in May, 2011. The bike will carry a price tag of $13,900, that’s $1,000 less than the class-leading BMW R1200GS’s price tag. Performance should be relatively similar to that bike too, but the Japanese bike leaves the GS behind in rider aids: the Yamaha is equipped with ride-by wire throttle with two maps, three-mode traction control. Read the full article »

Keeping with its schedule, Triumph has released some new photos and technical data of its 2011 Adventure. The English manufacturer has created a new, 800-ish, long-stroke three-cylinder engine based on the 675 to power the middleweight road and off-road versions of the bike. The engine should be "torquey", have an "exciting top end", "compact dimensions", "controllable power delivery', all thanks to its long-stroke design.
