I Superbiker DVD now out

„I, Superbiker”, the full length motorcycling documentary film which follows 4 riders battle for the 2010 BSB Championship, now out on DVD. „I, SUPERBIKER”, is a no-holds barred film, directed by Mark Sloper (The Final Cut and Small Time Obsession) in association with the MCE Insurance sponsored British Superbike Championship (BSB) and Motorcycle News (MCN). Video: KTM RC8 R test with Ty Howard

KTM support rider Ty Howard takes us around the track on the new KTM 1190 RC8 R in preparation for his race season. "Riders who are regularly on the race track often invest a lot of time and money to prepare their sports machine in the best possible way. In the case of the RC8 R Track, the KTM Racing Department takes over this role. Video: World’s first synchronized double backflip performed by Travis Pastrana and Cam Sinclair

7-time X Games medalist Travis Pastrana and dozens of the world’s greatest action sports stars performed in the North American debut of Nitro Circus Live at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. The show of world-firsts kicked off when Pastrana asked his long-term girlfriend, Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins to marry him. “I wasn’t supposed to do this until the end of the show, but I was so nervous I couldn’t wait. This is a night of world-first stunts, and this stunt involves the rest of my life,” said Pastrana. The crowd went wild. Read the full article »

Video: ¼ mile race BMW S1000RR, F800R, R1200GS, M3 and M5

German motorcycle accessoriy specialist Hornig organized a quarter mile race with the finest BMW machines with two and four wheels. It’s no surprise that the S1000 RR won the race with 9,72 sec. The F800R - which has only 87hp - rocketed to second place with 11,54 sec. The R1200GS Adventure finished third with 11,86 sec, while the M5 beat the M3 by just 0,06 second. It’s amazing to see that these „slow” bikes with under 100hp beat these fine sports cars. Read the full article »

Harley XLST3 Sportster Dirt Track

The custom division of UK based Shaw Harley-Davidson created another special Sportster model. The XLST3 is based on a 2011 XL1200N Sportster Nightster and was inspired by the look of the 70’s Dirt Trackers. The bike features an in-house built exhaust system, chain drive, titanium nitrided forks, Öhlins shocks, progressive springs and XL883 fork lowers. Performance Machine brake system is hooked up to Roland Sands Design Black Ops 13” brake rotors, and the gas tank comes from RSD, too. Read the full article »

Video: An-Bu Yamaha GX400SP Cafe Racer

Nagoya-based Japanese company An-Bu builds stripped-back customs. Their newest creation is a Yamaha Cafe Racer. The bike is based on the Yamaha GX400SP which was produced in the late 70’s. The guys at An-Bu cut down the frame and lowered the suspension. The Yamaha now features a narrow tank and a tire-hugging tail unit. Although the look is interesting, there is something that does not work for us. Is it the high front end or the too low and too short back end? Full gallery after the jump. Read the full article »

Video: Safety and Wheelie

According to Kawasaki, safety and wheelie is a good combination. Kawasaki and Team No Limit stunt riders Jason Britton and Eric Hoenshell recently teamed up for the 101 Critical Days of Summer safety fair at MCAS Miramar in San Diego, Ca. Motorcycle safety is a high level concern for the young men and women who serve our country. While Jason and Eric impressed thousands of active duty Marines with their extreme riding skills, they also expressed the importance of wearing the proper gear, choosing a motorcycle that is right for you and getting proper training in order to enjoy the ride. Read the full article »

Video: Tribute to classic motorcycles

Classic Moto is the annual meeting point for classic (meaning built before 1983) bikes. The event takes place every year on the Jarama track at Madrid. For road racing machines it is a very special place, as Jarama is the legendary circuit in Spain. Agostini, Read, Saarinen, Sheene, Roberts, Baker, Cecotto, Gardner, Lawson, Schwantz, Sarron, etc rode in the track, and some of them are now back. Video: Stay a hero, stay safe

„Stay A Hero” is the latest campaign from the Sussex Safer Roads Partnership, aiming to reduce the number of motorcyclists killed and seriously injured on the roads. „The film looks to remind bikers to ride safely for both themselves and their loved ones, and that they can inspire the next generation to ride skilfully and safely.
