Video: Erik Buell documentary to air tonight

„The Ragged Edge”, a documentary about Erik Buell Racing, will air tonight on PBS, but only if you live in Wisconsin. Erik Buell Racing (EBR) is (was) the only American sport bike company that is now racing for its survival. Sometimes bike manufacturers just get it all wrong. Now, we collected the worst of the worst, the really ugly motorcycles in the history of two-wheelers. Nobody said designing a motorcycle was easy, but don’t break the basic principles and go for sharp and muscular. BMW Japan’s Straight Six project results in crazy K 1600 GTL custom bikes

„Ignite Straight 6" is a custom project of the manufacturer involving the K 1600 GTL, BMW’s flagship model equipped with a straight-six engine and some of Japan’s best custom motorcycle builders. BMW Japan has just revealed two custom bikes of the project, one from Keiji Kawakita of HOT-DOCK CUSTOM-CYCLES and Kenji Nagai of Ken’s Factor – both of them are pioneering figures on Japan’s custom bike scene. Read the full article »

KTM Grand Tourist turns 65

TM presented the Grand Tourist motorcycle at the Vienna International Spring Fair in 1955. This bike was the third model of the manufacturer, a 125cc machine that placed KTM on an equal footing with competitive brands, mostly based in Germany. The Grand Tourist was powered by a Rotax engine licensed from Sachs, coupled witha three-speed transmission. Read the full article »

V4 heaven – Honda VFR history

The Honda VFR model line set the sport touring benchmark for the last three decades. During all these years, the VFR has earned a reputation for reliability and high build quality, but Honda has built some disastrous VFRs in the mid-1980s. One of the most fascinating feature of the model line was its V4 engine with its optimum power and torque characteristics. Of course, the V4 was and is cinsiderably trickier than an inline-four. Daryl’s bike from The Walking Dead

Actor Norman Reedus, aka Daryl Dixon from AMC’s TV show The Walking Dead, has a new bike. The custom motorcycle was built by the team of Classified Moto and they created a machine that embodies both Reedus' personality and Daryl's character perfectly. A British company offers a really epic motorcycle journey from London to Magadan, Eastern Russia, covering some 16,500 miles (28,500 km), 16 countries and 11 different time zones over 4 months. Video: Harley to break free from stereotypes

The board of Harley-Davidson can’t complain, sales numbers are up, revenue is growing, but the manufacturer still desperately tries to open towards younger riders. That’s why they developed the new Street model series that features smaller engines.
