Video: Harley-Davidson Night Rod Special

Dark and sinister, the restyled Night Rod Special features a new tapered tail section, lighter-weight wheels, and improved ergonomics with reduced reach to both the rider footpegs and handlebar. Inverted front forks and retuned rear suspension enhance ride and handling. This is a blacked-out, dead-on power cruiser that's at home in a back alley. New Harley-Davidson Touring, Trike and Sportster models arrive at dealerships

Harley-Davidson has begun delivery of all 15 models in the 2012 Touring, Trike (North America only) and Sportster lines to its dealers in the U.S. and Europe. These motorcycles will be available for sale immediately. Shipment of these select 2012 models has been accelerated to provide greater continuity of supply in dealerships during the peak summer selling season. Harley XLST3 Sportster Dirt Track

The custom division of UK based Shaw Harley-Davidson created another special Sportster model. The XLST3 is based on a 2011 XL1200N Sportster Nightster and was inspired by the look of the 70’s Dirt Trackers. The bike features an in-house built exhaust system, chain drive, titanium nitrided forks, Öhlins shocks, progressive springs and XL883 fork lowers. Performance Machine brake system is hooked up to Roland Sands Design Black Ops 13” brake rotors, and the gas tank comes from RSD, too. Read the full article »

Marlon Brando Trustees sue Harley-Davidson for using name

Marlon Brando’s estate executors have filed a suit against Harley-Davidson Motor Company for the unlicensed use of Brando’s name on a line of boots. Brando Enterprises is seeking to recover damages caused by the sales and marketing of the unlicensed boot. The lawsuit says the boots look similar to a pair that Brando wore in the 1953 movie „The Wild One”. The movie mogul says, "The Marlon Brando name is among the most recognized in the world. Only a select few can transcend generations and Marlon Brando is in that rarified group of globally renowned icons. Read the full article »

Harley-Davidson 2011 Q1 sales up 11%, earnings up 350%

Harley-Davidson, Inc. generated increased earnings and worldwide dealer new motorcycle sales grew for the first quarter of 2011. The company reported first quarter income from continuing operations of $119.3 million, or $0.51 per share, compared to income from continuing operations of $68.7 million, or $0.29 per share in the year-ago period. Worldwide retail sales of new Harley-Davidson motorcycles grew 3.5 percent in the first quarter, compared to last year’s first quarter. Read the full article »

Harley-Davidson branded license plates in Wisconsin

Wisconsin motorists have a new opportunity to support motorcycle safety initiatives throughout the state. Harley-Davidson Motor Company today announced it is partnering with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to offer the first-ever Harley-Davidson branded automotive license plate to motorists in Wisconsin. This plate will be available for automobiles, light trucks and motor homes. The Harley-Davidson/Share the Road plate officially launches on Wednesday, April 13. Read the full article »
