The design of the bike is already widely acknowledged as one of the finest examples of two-wheeled design ever produced. The aim was to prove balance of form and function on the ‟field of battle‟ by setting three land-speed records in their class at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. We have to wait for that but the Legacy looks astonishing, that’s for sure. Design Studio JT Nessbitt established an enduring, colloquial design language, creating a series of innovations in the process. According to the studio, these innovations can be licensed for the improvement of vehicle manufacturing as either tools in the production process or technologies incorporated into motorized design itself.

Atthe heart of the Legacy is a Motus V4 engine. The 1,650cc four-cylinder was mated to a supercharger, making it capable of producing as much as 300hp. The bike also features patented suspension leveraging one composite leaf-spring with the engine mounted at its centre. Carbon-composite blades allow for rake and trail adjustment for the first time on a production motorcycle. In addition to that, the builders used materials liketitanium, carbon fibre, leather, and mahogany.

The Legacy will be ridden up the Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb by Jim Jacoby and Scott Miller who founded the ADMCi Foundation which has supported the Legacy project from its inception. Of course, the Legacy won’t be the only entrant that’ll please bike lovers at Goodwood. The whole weekend will be filled with two-wheeled treats. Sunday in particular will feature a host of bike action, including rides from Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner, Giacomo Agostini, Freddie Spencer, John Surtees, Jim Redman and Kenny Roberts.
