Peugeot has just unveiled the new RS edition of its Vivacity scooter. According to the manufacturer, the RS looks more „sportier”. Unfortunately, Apiril 1st was a week ago but the Vivacity is still a reliable, comfortable little scooter that comes with a moderate price tag and a two-year unlimited mileage warranty that is impressive. All in all, it’s a good low budget commuter that’s not even remotely sporty.

Peugeot’s versatile Vivacity 125 scooter is now available in the sporty RS specification. In RS trim the Vivacity comes with ‘mad grey’ bodywork, 12” black alloy tri-spoke wheels with machined rims and matching black front fork legs. The silencer gets a chrome cover, the dual-texture sport seat has contrasting grey stitching and the rear passenger grab rail is black aluminium.

Thanks to its two generous luggage compartments, the Vivacity features a class-leading carry capacity: beneath the dual seat is a 22-litre storage bay, large enough for a full-face helmet, and behind the front bodywork is an additional 13-litre compartment, with sufficient space for an open-face helmet. There is even a 12-volt power output for charging gadgets on the move.

Under the bodywork, there’s a 125cc 4-stroke engine delivering 8.2hp. With the 7.5 litre fuel tank beneath the floor, the Vivacity has plenty of range and delivers good fuel economy. The Peugeot Vivacity 125 RS sells for £1899 OTR in the United Kingdom and is covered by a 24-month unlimited mileage manufacturer’s warranty.
