The NCR Leggera 1200 Special is reportedly the lightest Hypermotard ever made – shedding an unbeliveable 57kg from the already minimal Ducati. The Italian streetfighter got a handful of modifications, including full titanium frame, ceramic-carbon brakes and carbon-fibre bodywork. The engine delivers 110 horses but you can choose between two optional transformation kits which gives you extra 15 or 22hp.

The Leggera is based on the 1100 Hypermotard but you have to look very closely if you want to find an identical component on the two bikes. The frame is made entirely of grade 9 titanium, so it only weighs 4.8kg. There is a ceramic-carbon front brake and the carbon fibre bodywork and wheels add to the weight reduction. Engine modifications include more titanium for the valves, magnesium engine covers, NCR race cams, and bigger bore cylinders making for 110 hp or you can choose the first transformation kit which increases power to 125hp. The 110hp version weighs an amazing 157kg, but there’s another NCR Corse kit only available with the more powerful, 132hp version so the bike weighs just 135kg. The minimalist, lightweight bike isn’t cheap, it costs $76,000 in Italy.
