Rumours have swirled since the introduction of Aprilia’s 750cc Dorsoduro back in 2007, that the company plans a larger 1200cc version. It was four almost years ago but we finally got the confirmation of the stronger version, even if in a funny way. The news comes from Aprilia itself in a form of mistakenly posted service manual for the upcoming bike.

The big brother looks virtually identical to the 750cc model, but it’s a little bit longer, a little bit heavier and should have a lot more power and torque. The 1200cc version features a liquid-cooled V-twin designed by Aprilia. We don’t know the performance figures yet, but rumours suggest the 1200cc engine should produce something in the region of 130hp and 90lb/ft of torque. It’s clearly the new Dorsoduro is a lot more faster despite the disappointing 57lbs weight penalty. The 1200cc Dorsoduro comes with ride by wire throttle system, optional ABS, and fully adjustable Sachs suspension. There will be no traction control. It’s most likely that the Dorsoduro 1200 will debut at EICMA in November.
