The Moto Guzzi Eldorado is a post-heritage bike – a modern interpretation of their popular touring and police flagship motorcycle from the \u201870s. Back then it was 850cc, now it has a robust, rumbling 1400cc for a heart and the Eldorado is Moto Guzzi\u2019s current answer to the quest for modern performance, retro beauty, and luxurious touring.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At face value, the styling exudes upscale retro modern comfort. Chrome is distributed throughout gratuitously, with pinstriping following the lines of the bike from front fender to rear mudguard. The Eldorado rides on 16in classic spoked rims and eye-catching, retro-future tubeless whitewall tyres\u2014130\/90 in front and 180\/65 in the rear. The recurring contrast between polished metal, glossy paint (red or black), and delicate trim alongside the big plush saddle are reminders that the Eldorado is the even more more sumptuous and adorned sibling of Moto Guzzi\u2019s 1400 cruiser, the California, while the Audace is their matte bad boy of a brother.<\/p>\n

Moto Guzzi\u2019s 1380cc 90-degree V-twin is the largest V-twin manufactured in Europe. In typical Guzzi fashion, the 1400 power plant is mounted transversely with both cylinders arranged from side to side and the crankshaft longitudinal along the length of the motorcycle – mated to a 6-speed gearbox and ending in final double cardan joint shaft \u201cCompact Reactive Drive\u201d. Cylinder fins and ribs on both the Eldorado and Audace shine with polished metal edges. Available as an accessory are polished crimson cylinder head covers for a sharper taste of Italian red. The air and oil cooled engine makes a claimed output of 96hp at 6500rpm and a good 87ft-lb of torque at 2750rpm. Elastic-kinematic engine mounts quell the vibrations for added long-distance riding comfort.<\/p>\n

The ease of steering on the Eldorado is a noteworthy trait, paired with its comfortable seat. More amenities include ride-by-wire with 3 engine maps, cruise control, and adjustable 3-stage traction control. Front suspension is taken care of by standard 46mm forks with 4.7in travel. Adjustable double shock absorbers are mounted on the rear with 4.7in travel. Covered rear suspension contributes to the vintage look of the motorcycle. Front braking is care of dual 320mm floating discs and Brembo radial 4 piston callipers\u2014for the rear, a 282mm fixed disc with a Brembo floating 2 piston calliper. ABS comes standard.<\/p>\n

Moto Guzzi Multi-Media Platform for mobile devices is accessible via Bluetooth with data acquisition, GPS, and riding information displays. The app can act as a map, showing nearby gas stations and the location at which you last parked the bike. Logs are thorough, offering the ability to pinpoint a moment on a route in hindsight in order to view data such as rpm, gear, lean angle, and the like at that very spot. The virtual instrument panel, other than displaying a speedometer and tachometer, can stream handy information including average speed, battery voltage, torque, and fuel consumption. The Moto Guzzi app integration is a digital bonus for the high tech rider. All in all, the Eldorado is a beautiful cruiser that fuses timeless elegance with modern technology.<\/p>\n
