The American arm of BMW announced a 4% sales growth for 2010. The Bavarian manufacturer sold 98\u00a0000 bikes globally in 2010 compared to the 87\u00a0000 units it sold in 2009, that\u2019s a 12% increase. The best selling bike of the marque was the R1200 GS (18\u00a0700 units), and was followed by the R1200 GS Adventure ( 11\u00a0600 units), the R1200 RT (11\u00a0100 units), and the S1000 RR supersport machine (10\u00a0200 units). More interestingly, the S1000 RR outsold the R1200 GS in the US.<\/p>\n

\u201cBMW dealers did a tremendous job in 2010, despite the headwinds they faced with a tough economy,\u201d<\/em> said BMW USA National Sales Manager Mac McMath, in a company press announcment. \u201cWhile many dealers in the country struggled last year, BMW dealers remained committed to the job at hand and worked tirelessly to capture every sale they could.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n
