Kawasaki put the new Ninja ZX-10R on technical hold back in mid-December. After much speculation, the manufacturer revealed the problem. The Japanese engineers says that there was a possible surging of the intake valve spring when the bike operated under unique riding operations. According to the manufacturer, this surge could cause the intake valve to seat improperly, resulting in poor engine performance.<\/p>\n

The camshaft, valve springs, and spring retainers are being replaced to prevent the valves from surging, without affecting engine performance. Kawasaki also announced that sales of the new Ninja are expected to resume in January 2011.<\/p>\n
