The first model of the series was the GSX-R 750 and it was revealed back in 1985. Since then, the GSX-R acronym is Suzuki’s most important brand.
Suzuki shocked a lot of people with the GS1000 series when it was revealed in the Paris motorcycle show in Paris in 1977. Other manufacturers had already introduced liter-sized engines so Suzuki was joining the 1,000cc party a bit late but the GS1000 reached cult status very fast and this series set the foundations for not only subsequent production bikes, but also four-stroke racing success too. Suzuki has now announced that the GS1000S will be added to the firm’s popular Vintage Parts programme. Read the full article »

The new 1000cc naked roadster of Suzuki was one of the most anticipated bikes of this year. Since Suzuki is a bit behind the game in this category, there was lot of pressure but they have got it right this time. The new GSX-S1000 is fast, agile and cheaper than its rivals. The iconic long-stroke K5 engine of the 2005 GSX-R 1000 has a distinctive sound and the design is sharply styled. But can it challenge the KTM Super Duke R and the BMW S 1000 R? Read the full article »

The Japanese manufacturer may be planning to revive the Inazuma name. The original Inazuma name was carried by a retro-styled Bandit in the late 90s and early 2000s. The brand’s last retro-styled street bike, the GSX 1400 disappeared in 2007. Nowadays, there are plenty of naked bikes, but only few of them are round-headlamp retros. Suzuki has now registered the Inazuma name once again, which translates “Lightning”. Now, with the new, more modern-looking Bandit, there is definitely a spot for a retro-styled street bike in Suzuki’s line-up. Read the full article »

Suzuki has finally took the wraps off the 2012 DL 650 ABS, the V-Strom. The new bike is longer, taller, and lighter than its predecessor and features an updated engine. The V-Strom has a 3-way height-adjustable windscreen, carefully shaped with extensive wind tunnel testing, efficiently reduces wind noise and rider fatigue. All in all, the Japanese company failed to impress with the new V-Strom,the bike is still the poor man’s adventure bike. Read the full article »

The Japanese manufacturer is working on a brand new middle-weight adventure bike. It’s still unclear whether the replacement of the V-Strom will feature a 650cc, an 800cc or even a 1000cc engine. Sources say that the new bike will be more off-road capable than the current V-Strom. Unfortunately, the teaser images don’t show much, but we are sure that we will see more images in the near future. Rumors from Europe suggest some styling cues from the Gladius, with a more off-road-oriented design with spoked wheels replacing the cast aluminum hoops on the V-Strom, and more robust suspension bits. Read the full article »

As expected, the Japanese company didn’t make any major changes on the power of the Hayabusa. However, they made changes on the graphics and the color of the bike. The new GSX 1340 R is available in new colors including Nebular Black with red trim and Pearl Mirage White with gold trim. The 1340cc DOHC inline-four still produces 197hp and 155Nm of torque, but the company updated the 6-speed transmission to make gear changes more comfortable and easy. Read the full article »

Japanese sports industry is now facing hard times after last Friday’s earthquake and tsunami. Reports said that the 9.0-magnitude earthquake caused cracks on the track and also damaged spectator seats at the Motegi circuit (90 miles north of Tokyo), which has led to MotoGP World Championship being rearranged for October. The race was originally scheduled for April 24. The MotoGP season is due to get under way at Losail in Qatar. A domestic road race there next Sunday was also knocked off the circuit's calendar. Read the full article »

The company increased its sales by an encouraging 6.1% despite continued severe market condition. This means Suzuki sold 975,000 units globally in the nine month ended Dec. 31 2010. The new naked bike, just like the GSX-R600, features shorter wheelbase, lighter frame, swingarm, front forks, wheels, brakes, rear suspension, bodywork and exhaust system. Suzuki's Derek Schoeberle walks us through the changes to the 2011 Suzuki GSX-R 750, and how the Japanese company's 750cc track weapon lost 17 lbs over the 2010 model. Read the full article »

For the 2011 model year, the Suzuki GSX-R 600 received some technical updates. The new GSX-R is a bit shorter, which makes it easier to handle, while the new aluminium chassis is lighter than its predecessor’s. The brand new engine is one of the smallest in the 600cc segment and uses the classic RAM-Air direct injection. The exhaust and air valves are all made from titanium, which further contributes to the weight loss. The brake system comes from Italian brake specialist Brembo. Check the bike out in our huge gallery. Read the full article »

Suzuki will return to the Isle of Man TT in 2011 with Northern Ireland-based TAS Racing, the team has announced. TAS, one of the TT’s most successful teams, and Suzuki are continuing a partnership established more than a decade ago. The father and son team of Hector and Philip Neil will spearhead Suzuki’s efforts in the British Superbike Championship and the International Road Races, including the TT. There is no word yet on whether TAS will retain Cameron Donald and Bruce Anstey for next year’s road racing season, but there will be a two rider line-up and an announcement is expected in the next few weeks. Read the full article »

Unveiled on the Suzuki exhibition stand at 9.00am local time, the new GSX-R600 boasts heightened performance levels thanks to MotoGP inspired development that has seen the new bike shed an impressive nine kilograms over its predecessor, thanks partly to an all-new chassis that has a 15mm shorter wheelbase, as well as Showa Big Piston Forks. Read the full article »

The Japanese manufacturer has completed a prototype of an electric scooter named the e-Let’s and has begun studying its operation on public roads in Japan. Suzuki was able to begin the on-road trials after registering the e-Let’s as a moped with the local authorities on 21st September and obtaining a number plate for it. Suzuki plans to use the resulting data in development efforts aimed at creating a production model. The e-Let’s is based on a petrol-engine scooter called the Let’s4 basket. Read the full article »

The Japanese manufacturer has released a single official illustration of the new GSR 750, a stylish naked middleweight bike that will make its debut in just three weeks. The new model will use a slightly detuned version of the company’s GSX-R 750’s engine. Besides the detuned engine, the bike will miss out the GSX-R 750’s radial-mount brake calipers, and most of the chassis will probably be pared back to meet lower price point. The bodywork and tank design is largely angular, providing the bike an agressive image. Read the full article »

Platinum Air Suspension has introduced a new air ride technology for Suzuki Hayabusa. The system allows riders to set the rebound and ride height of their bike. The adjustment, which uses the company’s BLEED FEED technology, is made by the flip of a switch. "We feel it is critical not to compromise handling and full suspension movement when adjusting the ride height of a high performance motorcycle like the Suzuki Hayabusa," said Mike Ferris, owner of Platinum Air Suspension. Read the full article »
