Husqvarna unveiled the Mille 3 Concept at the 2010 EICMA show, which, according to Visordown, was the first sign that the Swedish company is planning road bikes. The British magazine reports that the manufacturer will launch the first of a whole range of road bikes in late 2011 as part of a new strategic plan. The first road machine of Husqvarna will use a 900cc parallel twin engine based on the BMW F800 models. Husqvarna could use the experience and resources of their parent company, BMW. Read the full article »

The Dragon TT Atila 1000R Concept bike was unveiled at the EICMA show back in November 2010, but now we have more studio shots of the streetfighter. The custom machine was built by Spanish company MotoYE and designed by Dragon TT. The bike is based on the modified frame of the Yamaha GTS1000, the suspension parts come from Öhlins and Moriwaki, the brakes from Brembo, while the headlight cluster once belonged to a 2005 Yamaha R6. Read the full article »

The three-wheeled scooter concept is not new, Piaggio has the popular MP3 models in its lineup but a young Italian manufacturer has come up now with a brand new, four-wheeled scooter concept. The Quadro 4D will be the first vehicle of its kind on the market. The combination of four wheels positioned closely together and the hydraulic tilting technology allow this unique vehicle a range of performance not yet paralleled in the industry—think stairs, curbs, potholes are no obstacle. Its release is expected fall 2011. Read the full article »

Witness the 2011 Honda CBR125R, which is set to join the Aprilia RS4 and KTM 125 Duke in Europe. The 125cc sportsbike class is getting more and more crowded, and the newest member of this category comes from Honda Thailand. The Japanese brand wanted to build a 125cc sportsbike with the look and feel of a bigger, more expensive machine. Therefore, the VFR1200F-like styling is agressive, and the bike is lightweight, arefined and easy to use. Read the full article »

The Japanese brand updated its largest, 300cc SH scooter for the 2011 model year. The bike got new frame design, suspension, premium leather seat and 19” cast aluminium wheels, which gave the scooter better high-speed stability. The new model also features the brand’s combined ABS braking system and a long list of accessories such as colour-matched topbox, windscreen and heated grips. The engine didn’t change, though, the 279cc single-cylinder still delivers 27hp at 6000rpm. Read the full article »

Peugeot revealed its E-Vivacity electric scooter last November, and as expected, the machine goes into production in 2011. The brand released now more details about the motorcycle. The E-Vivacity is a 100% electric scooter, representing “a revolution in the urban mobility sector, a fun and handy vehicle, with excellent acceleration performances.” – says Peugeot. The technical specification of the bike backs up this statement: the E-Vivacity is light (115kg/254 lbs), and small (1910x680x1168mm). Read the full article »

The Italian manufacturer presented the 2011 Monster 1100 EVO at EICMA show in Milan. The updated bike is lighter and more powerful, and now features standard ABS and Ducati Traction ontrol (DTC). The 2011 Monster weighs just 373lbs, 4lbs less than the 2010 version. The updated engine delivers five extra horsepower, which means the 2011 Monster is the first two-valve Ducati that reaches 100hp. New 10-spoke wheels replace the five-spoke units on the 2010 models, with Pirelli Diablo Rosso remaining the OE tire. Brembo binders now come with ABS as standard, available as an option on previous models. Read the full article »

KTM finally decided not to pull out of Dakar after the announcement of the new 450cc capacity limit from 2011. The manufacturer introduced today the 450 Rally which is KTM’s response to the new rule. The race bike features a massive trellis frame, a high-performance engine with larger bore and smaller stroke. The engineers coupled the single-cylinder 4-stroke engine with a 5-speed gearbox. Other interesting facts about the bike: the 450 Rally has a dry weight of 150kg (330lbs) and features a 35-liter (9.2 gallons) fuel tank that saddles the frame. The 450 Rally carries a price tag of €29,300 ($41,200). A spare engine costs €5,000 extra. Read the full article »

Vespa introduced its 2011 lineup, including the refreshed PX 125, PX 150 and the GTV scooters. Its no surprise that Vespa maintains all of the classic strong points which determined the PX’s success for more than three decades: unmistakable style, functionality, sturdiness of a steel bodyshell, reliability. The PX got an all-new design, headlight and upholstery. The new hand grips in black rubber are elegantly branded with the Vespa logo. Read the full article »

Husqvarna unveiled today the Mille 3 Concept – a lightweight, V3-powered cruiser/sportsbike. The bike, which appears to be a crazy cross between a tracker, a cruiser and a sportsbike, is powered by a 930cc V-triple (one in two cylinders, one vertical cylinder) engine. Husqvarna says, "Emotion is irrational, curiosity is a gift, and anti-conformism is innate.
Recent years have seen radical changes in the world of individual mobility, specifically in the conurbations, and the number of registrations has rocketed for virtually all individual transport concepts. However, the space available to traffic has not grown to the same extent, so individual mobility must come to terms with the new circumstances. Against this background, BMW Motorrad will be expanding its present motorcycle adventure world to include the big scooter. This new product segment will first give rise to two innovative premium scooters with internal combustion engines. Read the full article »

KTM introduced its new 350 EXC-F Factory, a newly developed factory bike claims no less than to be the most sophisticated and best four stroke racing Enduro ever. By limiting itself to a 350 cc capacity, KTM intends to transfer the sensational success of the 350 SX-F in the Motocross World Championship to the Enduro segment. The basic tenet of combining the low weight of a 250 with the power of a 450 will give the 350 EXC-F the edge. Combining massive performance with awesome agility makes for efficient, energy-saving rideability, which is at least as important in Enduro competitions as it is in Motocross races. Read the full article »

In particular the front section makes the single-cylinder enduro light, sporty, and dynamic.
Ahead of EICMA, BMW released information on the 2011 R 1200 R and R 1200 R Classic naked machines. Generating perceptibly higher torques, the new boxer engine provides an extra boost to temperament. Derived from the BMW HP2 Sport, their new boxer with 1170 cc and DOHC valve gear corresponds to the engines already installed in the BMW R 1200 GS and BMW R 1200 RT. The basic R 1200 R has a sporty character with new cast light alloy wheels, the R 1200 R Classic presents wire spoke wheels for a deliberate touch of refined nostalgia. Read the full article »

Austrian off-road motorcycle specialist will present a 990 Adventure special edition next week at EICMA show in Milan. Mike Werner of Motorbiker.org got his hands on this photo of the motorcycle which seems to be a tweaked version of the 990 Adventure. The special edition version features new blue and orange livery, classic Dakar logo and the 30th edition wording to remind everyone of it’s rally origins. The motorcycle got anti-lock brakes and KTM aftermarket kit. The company didn’t release the technical data yet. Read the full article »

Honda will present the new CBR250R at the EICMA show in Milan next week, but the manufacturer already took the wraps off the model. The much anticipated bike got the design cues of the VFR1200F sports tourer and the CBR1000RR sports bike. The entry-leves CBR is powered by a 4-stroke, 4-valve single-cylinder DOHC engine which delivers 26 hp and 23 Nm of torque. The engine, which meets the Euro-3 emission standards, is a little less powerful than the two-cylinder Kawasaki Ninja 250, but the Honda has more torque. Read the full article »

Honda released an official sketch which shows a new adventure bike. The Japanese manufacturer will bring a new 1200cc concept bike to the EICMA show next month, and rumours suggest the new sketch is based on this machine. The concept will most likely to feature the VFR’s 1200cc V4 engine and will have an exclusive, sporty design. If Honda builds a new model with this engine, it will have to be lighter and sportier than the overhyped, heavy VFR. The concept will be shown in the upcoming EICMA show in Milan. Read the full article »

A number of all-new Honda models will then make their world debuts at the EICMA show in Milan from 2-7 November. The 1500sq meter Honda stand will be one of the main attractions of EICMA, where the Japanese will introduce the new Faze maxi scooter. This model is already on sale in Japan in the 250cc version, but possibly there will be a 125cc and a 300cc version. The model pays homage to the classic V7 Sport race bike of the ’70s.
