Aprilia’s 50cc SR Motard was originally scheduled to go sale in 2012 but after some delays, it arrived in the dealerships almost a year later, in the Summer of 2013. Since then, it’s one of the sportiest scooter of the segment. It features sharp styling, affordable price tag and a revvy engine that churns out 4,6hp at 8,000rpm. The bike is available in black and white colors and it retails for $2,099 in the United States. Read the full article »

That includes Aprilia USA, which pays tribute to the brave men and women who made the shuttle possible as its last ever launch approaches.
Aprilia Performance Ride Control is the most sophisticated set of performance-enhancing electronics yet fitted to a road-legal motorcycle. Very similar to the system Max Biaggi used to win the 2010 SBK World Championship, the 2011 Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC SE incorporates launch control, wheelie control, traction control and quickshift. All together, those systems give Aprilia riders more control, enabling them to ride faster, safer. Read the full article »

The British arm of Aprilia has announced that they will a quick shifter as an optional add-on to the 2012 RS4 125 sportbike. Inherited from the RSV4 R APRC, the quick shifter allows for clutchless upshifts without needing to close to the throttle. The bike is powered by a liquid-cooled DOHC four-valve engine delivering 16hp. There’s no word yet whether the quick shifter option will be offered in the U.S. when the Aprilia RS4 125 arrives later this year as a 2012 model. Read the full article »

Aprilia launched the RSV4 R APRC Special Edition last autumn, and now, we have more images of the bike. The Aprilia RSV4 R APRC's improvements are not limited to the electronic management system. The 65° V4 engine offers improved lubrication and closer spaced gears for better acceleration. The new, lighter exhaust features an advanced butterfly valve management system to suit the Ride By Wire mapping for improved breathing and efficiency throughout the RPM range. Read the full article »

Aprilia decided to give the RSV4 R the APRC treatment which debuted last Autumn at the EICMA show in form of the RSV4 Factory APRC Special Edition. This means the RSV4 R APRC SE will be equipped with an 8-stage adjustable traction control, wheelie control, launch control, and a quick shifter. Along with these high-tech electronics, the bike also features an improved motor lubrication system and recalibrated gearbox for better acceleration. The exhaust system has also been lightened (minus 2kg or 5 lbs). Read the full article »

Spain's Carlos Checa (Ducati Althea Racing) scored a splendid double win at Phillip Island, a repeat of his double win at Imola last September. Just like in the first race, no one was able to run with the Spanish rider and he finished a couple of seconds ahead of Max Biaggi (Aprilia Alitalia). The reigning world champion battled it out for the runner-up slot in the final stages with an impressive Marco Melandri (Yamaha World Superbike Team), just getting the edge at the line. Read the full article »

It’s not clear whether the new colors will be available to the US. There are no technical changes to the 2011 Dorsoduro 750 so the bike’s V-twin produces still 92hp. The engine features liquid cooling, tri-map engine management, ride-by-wire throttle control, four valves per cylinder, double overhead cam valve timing, hydraulically operated wet clutch and electronic fuel injection. Read the full article »

Unless there is an epidemic of insurmountable mechanical problems, the battle for overall victory should be the business of Marc Coma, Cyril Despres and Francisco Lopez. So far, the kilometres travelled have been favourable to the Spaniard, who first and foremost must be on his guard and protect the lead he possesses. Between Antofagasta and Copiapo, he even endeavoured to improve it, skilfully benefitting from his starting position. Read the full article »

His Italian 450cc having now demonstrated its reliability, both in terms of performance and sturdiness, all the conditions were there to see Lopez roar out of the box. In 2012, the bikes will be powered by 1000cc engines, and it was believed manufacturers that compete in the WSBK would shift to MotoGP. But appearently, Aprilia won’t do that. The technical director of the company, Luigi dall’Igna said in a recent interview with Italian magazine Autosprint: “You need to consider that Aprilia is a manufacturer that has reaped a lot of success in the series it has participated in," Read the full article »

Power comes from a 1000cc V4 engine which is mated with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike features Brembo brakes, titanium forks, fully adjustable rear shock, and a bunch of modern electronics including ABS, wheelie control, quick shifter. All in all, the Tuono V4R is a great machine but the manufacturer definitely needs a better marketing company. Read the full article »

While it’s the BMW S1000RR that came out on top in most litre-class superbike shootouts conducted by dozens of magazines and websites worldwide, on the racetrack, it’s the Aprilia RSV4 that has won the battle. The Italian brand celebrates with the RSV4 Factory APRC Special Edition, which is equipped with a new electronic management system that includes traction control, wheelie control, launch control and quick shift. Read the full article »

The RSV4's V4 engine delivers power more predictable than either an inline-four or a V-twin, but even these properties aren't enough to mask the RSV4's lack of traction control. New rumours suggest the italians will offer soon ABS and traction control system on the RSV4, which isn't a surprise, knowing that Aprilia is developing such packages for the Tuono V4. With BMW offering ABS and traction control on the S1000 RR and Ducati featuring DTC on the 1198S, Aprilia would be the only manufacturer to offer these features in 2011. Read the full article »

Remember this video from the spring? BMW showed a trick with its supersport machine S1000 RR, a table and some dishes. Aprilia has now released an official response to that. The italians are clearly poking BMW in the eye with this video, in which their motto is: "Tricks are not our talent. Winning is. "Aprilia doubles in the World Superbike at Miller Motorsports Park, Monza and Portimao, while BMW's best result was a 3rd place. Read the full article »
