New MV Agusta F3 voted “most beutiful bike of EICMA”.

The completely new MV Agusta F3 was recently launched at the world’s biggest and most important motorcycle show, EICMA Milan, where Motociclismo magazine organised a poll to find ‘The Most Beautiful Bike of the Show’. Of over 12,000 votes cast, the F3 captured 39%, nearly twice that of the next entrant and well ahead of every other new model at the show. MV Agusta describes this new model as ‘a work of art on wheels’ and its exceptional styling and advanced technology will take this classic Italian marque into the middleweight supersports category. more »

Video: 2011 Honda VFR800X Crossrunner

Honda introduced its new middleweight adventure bike at the EICMA show two weeks ago. The VFR 800 X will compete with Triumph Tiger and Ducati Multistrada. Reports says the bike could go into production as early as 2011 and will have a price tag of €11,000. The Crossrunner is powered by a 782cc V4 engine which produces 102hp and 54lbs-ft of torque. The bike features an aluminium twin-spar frame, 43mm cartridge-type front fork, cast aluminium Pro-Arm swingarm, Pro-Link rising-rate linkage system and gas-charged HMAS damper with adjustable rebound damping. more »

2011 MV Agusta F3 revealed – with video

The new MV Agusta – the anticipated F3 – is finally out. The Italian manifacturer says the F3 is the most technologically advanced 600cc motorcycle ever produced. Thebike features a whole range of electronics – ride-by-wire with multi maps, traction control. The bike has an advanced frame which incorporates a mix of steel tubing and aluminium side plates that wrap around the ultra compact engine. The compact engine dimensions left the maximum liberty to design the most advanced chassis on the market. more »

Video: 2011 Kawasaki Z1000

Kawasaki released the official photos and a video of its popular Z1000 street naked which will get a facelift for the 2011 model year. The bike features the same 1043cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, four valves per cylinder engine as its predecessor but the Japanese brand offers now new accessories which offer more protection and boost the bike’s visual appeal even further. The new Z1000 has a price tag of $10,599 MSRP. more »

2011 Triumph Speed Triple gets lighter and more powerful

Triumph introduced today the 2011 model year Speed Triple, which drops its bug-eyed look. The model features a new aluminium chassis which reduces the weight by about 2 kg. In addition to that, the three-cylinder engine delivers more power and torque. The new numbers are 135hp at 9400rpm and 111 Nm at 7750rpm. Triumph claimes they improved handling, and the riding position is a bit more forward than on the outgoing model. The bike has new Showa 43mm fully adjustable forks, a lower seat position, better brakes from Brembo and optional ABS. more »

2011 Kawasaki Z1000 SX leaked photos

Kawasaki will introduce the new Z1000 SX at the Intermot show in Cologne this week, but we already have the first photos of the bike. The new Z1000 SX will be a road-focused sports bike for everyday use, powerful and most likely fun to ride, but not the in the road-going missile class. The bike features a completely revised instrumentation with adjustable screen, an analog tachometer and an adjustable windscreen. Large air intakes dominate the area under the dome. The Z1000 SX will be powered by a 1043cc inline-four engine. More technical details soon. more »

Triumph updates the Speed Triple’s chassis and engine for 2011

Triumph will reveal shortly an updated version of its long running Speed Triple model. The manufacturer filed new documents with the California Air Resource’s Board (CARB) to certify the new bike emissions and weights. This document reveals a significant change to the models emissions. The 2011 Speed Triple will feature a 1050cc engine – the same as its predecessor, however the new model has more fuel going into the engine, meaning it has been fine tuned for more performance. more »

Suzuki teases 2011 gixxer motorcycles

Reliable source close to Suzuki have leaked an artist rendering of what the rumoured all-new 2011 GSX-R 600 and possibly the GSX-R 750 might look like. The Japanese company didn’t confirm when the new GSX-R will be available. The current GSX-R 600/750 was last updated in 2008 so it’s no surprise that the two models will get only minor updates. The biggest changes are the four new air intakes stacked to the sides of the slimmer headlamp. Mechanically, we expect a small weight reduction and an equally small increase of power.
