Yamaha Yard Built XJR1300 „Big Bad Wolf” by El Solitario

This summer Yamaha teamed up with Spanish customhouse El Solitario for the final XJR build of 2015, celebrating 25 years of the iconic street machine. The result is an awe-inspiring creation, a race inspired track monster that more than lives up to its name, ‘Big Bad Wolf’. The bike broke cover for the first time at the Glemseck 101 show in Germany in September, taking to the 1/8 mile race track to bring an end to the reign of the defending champions Lucky Cat Garage. Read the full article »

Yamaha Yard Built wraps up summer at custom bike show Glamseck in Germany

As the summer draws to a close Yamaha is gearing up to send it off in style at the Glemseck 101 custom bike event in Germany from 4th to 6th September with a massive Yard Built presence. Motorcycle fans can expect to see a stunning line up of well known Yard Built creations from the world’s best custom builders as well as a few new surprises. Joining the impressive stable of custom machines will be two new builds; one from Rough Crafts of Taiwan and an eagerly anticipated build from Spain’s El Solitario. Read the full article »

Yamaha Yard Built XV950 “The Face”

Yamaha’s Yard Built program returns to Germany for the first collaboration with talented German custom builder, Dirk Oehlerking of Kingston Customs. The result, the Kingston Customs Yard Built XV950 ‘The Face’ is the first Café Bob to join the Yard Built line up. As with most Yard Built projects this build has a couple of signature tweaks that identify it as a Kingston Customs build, including the cool spark plug sitting in the headstock and the yellow MX visor screen, cleverly placed behind the head light. Read the full article »

Yamaha Yard Built XJR1300 “Iron heart”

If you've been following the world of custom bikes, you'll definitely know Yamaha's Yard Built program. Well, Yamaha has again broken new ground, collaborating with Japanese selvedge denim company Iron Heart to create the first Selvedge denim inspired Yard Built motorcycle. The collaboration between Iron Heart and Yamaha is indeed a stunning ‘grown up’ café racer. Yamaha Yard Built XV950 „Dangan”

Last year Yamaha UK gave the UK’s biggest motorcycle weekly publication MCN an XV950 on loan. The plan for journalist Steve Hunt was to see what a relative novice could do with some bolt on parts and accessories to create his own custom build. The result is truly impressive; the Yard Built XV950 „Dangan” (Japanese for „bullet”) is a proper custom build and worthy of its place here amongst the other special Yard Built creations! Read the full article »

Yamaha Yard Built XV950 ‘D-Side’ by Deus Ex Machina

The 20th anniversary of the legendary XJR1300 continues with the third Yard Built production of the year, the first collaboration from Amsterdam based custom builders Numbnut Motorcycles. The summer vibe has reached the workshops of Deus Ex Machina in Italy and influenced the latest Yard Built creation of the Milan design emporium. The Deus Yard Built XV950 ‘D-Side’ is stunning and stands alone as the only Yard Built custom bike and sidecar combination so far. Read the full article »

It roCkS!bikes Yard Built Yamaha SR400 „CS_05 Zen”

The CS_05 Zen, the latest creation by Portuguese custom bike builder it roCkS!bikes, is the lovechild of a partnership between the Portuguese branch of Yamaha Motor Europe, Motociclismo magazine and the custom shop from northern Portugal. Alexandre Santos and Osvaldo Coutinho transformed the Yamaha SR400, using their trademark monocoque design to create their Yard Built interpretation of the classic Yamaha. Read the full article »

Yamaha XJR1300 „Yard Built” Botafogo-N by Numbnut Motorcycles

Yamaha celebrates the 20th anniversary of the legendary XJR1300 with a special custom bike built by Numbnut Motorcycles in Amsterdam, Holland. Inspired by a one-off 1917 FIAT racing car, the Botafogo-N is an impressive custom machine built using a mix of in-house and aftermarket bolt-on parts with no cutting or welding to the original XJR frame. Yard Built Yamaha XJR1300 „Dissident” on Video

Another great custom motorcycle was revealed at last weekend’s Bike Shed in London. The one-off XJR1300 was built by Portuguese custom builders it roCkS!bikes. The special motorcycle, called the Dissident, is celebrating 20 years of the iconic street bruiser, the XJR series.
